Whumper gifting their Pet Whumpee with a fancy new collar after weeks of hard training and being good. In the moments in between when their old collar comes off and the new one comes on, there’s a strange sense of freedom that they hadn’t felt in ages.

But as soon as the new collar clicks in place, that feeling disappears and reality comes crashing back.

I get so tired of having to follow this diet, I miss the snacks that I used to be able to eat, the flavours I used to have access to. A lot of people, when a certain freedom is robbed from them are simply told to move on, get over it, get used to it. We are robbed of our freedom to complain. So here I am, and I am going to complain. At least until I’ve found some suitable alternatives to the foods and flavours I miss. I’ll still feel the restriction, I’ll still not be able to just eat what I want, but I can at least make the best of what I can, not because people tell me to, but because I have little other choice. And hopefully I can document here anything that I uncover that brings back any little reminder of that freedom that I used to have
