LOST (6x18 “The End”)
Today was a very interesting and consequential day in US politics.
Thomas Massie, a Libertarian Republican, lost his primary race tonight.
If you take things at face value, it seems like democrats were rooting for him. That's not necessarily the case...HOWEVER
Thomas voted against the Big Beautiful Bill. He is critical of Israel (I don't know his voting history here, but I'm guessing it's not in their favor, I'll explain in a bit). He created the bipartisan Epstien Act to force the release of the Epstien files. He's openly opposed Trump's war in Iran.
He votes with republicans about 97% of the time. So, no, he is not left. He is not a centrist. BUT what was notable about him in the House is, as you can see, he is not a Trump loyalist. Trump said any Republican who voted to release the Epstien files would be committing a hostile act. He backed this up by turning on Massie, MTG, and Lauren Boebert.
Yes, Donald Trump was explicitly against releasing the files. He was so pissed that he's actively punishing the few Republicans who went against him on the pedo-files.
On top of this, Massie's primary race became the most expensive primary House race in the history of the country because ISRAEL poured $35,000,000 into it!
Thomas not winning is just very dark. It proved that Trump still has a grip on the republican party despite these sad approval ratings AND of course that Israel is STILL buying and interfering in our elections, even if they cannot do so directly through AIPAC because now that's a red flag.
Midterms might be rough.
