So apparently, the term “Phantoms” as in the people causing trouble in Tokyo was translated as Menace and I find that hilarious because that means we can reasonably call these guys The Phantom Menace

Huh, interesting choice on the translation team's part! They certainly say "phantom" in Japanese, so I wonder why the translation team didn't just stick with that?

So was there any explanation for how Cattle specifically can turn into a car? I know Mona could turn into a bus thanks to My Neighbor Totoro putting catbuses into the Collective Unconsciousness, but I don't think anything similar exists for owls and cars.

No, I don't recall any explanation being given, now that you mention it. To my memory, he's basically just like "this will help us explore the Metaverse!" and then transforms into a car, heh.

Considering his lack of memory, and the apparent connection between the plot and P5's universe, maybe it's somehow connected to how Mona can also turn into a car, within-universe? I'm not sure exactly how that would work, but it's as good a theory as any right now, heh.

Has the Reaper shown up even once in P5X thus far or is it just completely absent this time.

Nope, I haven't seen it anywhere yet. But it's always possible they'll add it for something later!

Do you think that the Phantom Thieves' Personas will evolve at some point? Or at least Nagisa's?

Ah, I haven't been asked my thoughts on this topic in a while!

In the Chinese version's news, they seem to specifically refer to all the Personas and Persona IIs as the "initial" Persona (II)s. So I think it's reasonably likely that they will, or at the very least, that they're open to the possibility even if they haven't decided for sure. I wouldn't completely guarantee it just based on that word choice, but it's clearly on their radar.

Do you think that Makoto Yuki will have different variants for Orpheus and Thanatos (and maybe Messiah eventually)? Think the same for Joker with Satanael and Wonder if/when his Persona evolves?

It's possible! We still really don't know if they're going to have variants with different Personas yet, though it seems reasonable to guess that might happen in the future based on what we've seen. And Thanatos would be a really fun one! (And I don't just say that because Thanatos is one of my favorite Personas, heh!)

If Wonder gets one, then there's no reason that Joker and the P3 protagonist couldn't get one as well! Even if they're added after their collabs are done- Joker's butler costume was added in 4.0, distinctly after the P5R collab ended, haha.

Are we ever given any sense of time passing during the story proper? As in outside of the holiday events? As far as I can tell P5X is essentially frozen in Wonder's 2nd year with the only date being a poster saying it's 2026.

No, we're not (aside from having "yesterday", "today", and "tomorrow" on the calendar as days pass, but no numbers), but they've said this is actually intentional.
