...someone you made a product for tells you something surprising about it.
I make this heavy-duty hand salve for friends and family. I got the recipe during one of MMS’s “tell us what’s in your pantry” events; I submitted what I had on hand, and asked for a cuticle oil or a hand salve, as working at a print shop was basically sucking all the moisture out of my hands, leaving them dry and rough. Over time, I had to substitute mango butter for the macadamia butter, since MMS no longer carries macadamia butter.
Two of my friends have told me how awesome the salve is on FEET. One said it was all she needed to get through the Ohio winter without a problem. The other said that it was actually working to REMOVE her callouses.
I’d tried it on my own feet before, but never long-term, and since I hate wearing socks, I didn’t really get very much out of it. But this year, since I used another Shiny Foot foot peel, I figured I would at least try it, to extend the whole “soft new feet” feel. I’ve been using it diligently since Saturday, and I can definitely feel a difference. Here’s hoping I can remember to keep it up. My feet are something my mother constantly criticised about me, so if I can keep them nice and soft, maybe she won’t have anything to say when I go back in May.
