I like to think there’s a moment between Amber and Lottie after she runs out of her medicine where they’re washing up together in the lake and Lottie realizes that Amber doesn’t find her off putting or treat her differently. Amber loves her for her and doesn’t distinguish between how Lottie believes she is supposed to be and who she actually is. Amber doesn’t see that “difference” she just sees Lottie and Lottie realizes that despite how horrifying the idea of someone loving her wholly is, she’s happy it’s Amber.

Thought of making Amber and Lottie’s ship name Lamber to allude to Amber being a sort of sacrificial lamb for Lottie after the crash but idk how I’m feeling about it
