I keep seeing your art on my timeline and oh my gosh it's beautiful!!! 💕
Really?? Wow! Someone is digging through my archives. 👀 I haven’t drawn for this fandom in so long! But thank you so so much. That’s such a lovely and encouraging thing to hear. 🥰
Hi! I hope you’re well. Here’s some questions for the writers ask: 10, 13, 42, and 51 💕
Hi, thanks for your questions! Hope you’re well too 💞
10. Pick an author (or writing friend) to co-write a book with
The one and only @canadianlarrie I have already co-written one with Jennie and there’s more to come later. Meanwhile she keeps betaing my fics.
13. Describe your writing process
In a one word: messy.
I try to do even a simple outline about the story before I jump into writing. I usually do some basic research after outlining, and then whenever needed. I try to write in chronological order but I do write down notes/short scenes/dialogues for used in later scenes. Or save pics that reminds me of a place or an outfit I want character to wear. But shortly, after outlining, I just begin to write. Most of the story on that moment is just in my head and it forms as I write.
Despite this chaotic sounding writing process, I’m very pedantic to details. I have to get facts right, even if it doesn’t matter to the readers that there really is an existing flight from LAX to JFK on Monday at 11.23 am. Or that there is a circus shop called Oddballs in Camden and a cafe that sells vegan brownies.
I admire systematic writers who have clear plan since the first moments. I definitely don’t belong to that group but I guess my a bit more organised side wins the battle after all and my fics turn to reasonable at the very end. With the help of an excellent beta, of course.
42. How many drafts do you usually write before you feel satisfied?
Guess, it varies. I write the first draft/version. Then I reread it and edit/rewrite it again. I send it to my beta who does the first round of edits and makes comments. (Many times at this point I think my writing is so sh*t and it doesn’t make any sense anymore.)
While it’s been edited, I don’t usually touch it unless I need to reply to comments or something that needs quick response. After I get it back I try to do my ”final edits” and my beta does her second round. Depends on fic how many rounds there will be after we both are satisfied for the result.
51. Are you a secretive writer or do you talk with your friends about your books?
I think I would talk a lot more about them if I knew someone would be interested to listen. I don’t have so many friends who knows I write fics and I don’t want to bother them too much with my fic rambles. (I know this is very Finnish way of thinking 🙈)
Hello, E! 💕 Would you ever write a famous/non-famous fic?
Hi Pai, thanks 💕
I think I would actually! They’re just so fun and I feel like there’s a ton of possibilities! Like it doesn’t have to be in the music industry, they could be famous for whatever reason... And also it’s an easy way to have potential sources of conflict and tension and challenges within the story, so I’m all for it!
(I may or may not be just starting to work on a famous/non-famous AU set in the ballet world with Sher, where Harry is a somehow famous dancer and Louis’ just a regular guy, but shh)
Ask me “would you ever [insert your dream fic]” and I’ll answer ✨
🌻
the last concert i went to before everything shut down was all time low for their nothing personal ten year anniversary and all i can say is,,,,,thank god i got to see that ://// it was really fun and i ran into an old friend from like seven years ago that i used to go see them with a lot back in like 2012ish and i couldn’t stop hugging her i was so surprised to see her and happy she approached me out of nowhere like “KELLI????” i took one look at her and fuckin screamed

🌻

send me a 🌻 and ill just tell you whatever the fuck i want
Hi Kylee! I hope you're doing well! 2, 10, and 13 💕
Hello Pai! I'm doing well and hope you are too!
2. Where is your favorite place to write?
On my back deck in the sunshine! It's very peaceful and I don't get to write there as often as I'd like.
10. Pick an author (or writing friend) to co-write a book with
Oh! There's literally like 20 authors id love to write with but I'm going to narrow it down to @adoredontour or @uhohmorshedios because they've been so lovely with helping me with my writing and are so talented in their own ways!
13. Describe your writing process
Haha okay so i find something that makes me go 'oh that would be a cool fic!' And then I start writing. I get a thousand words in and then have a writers block episode and in the meantime add several more ideas to my 'to write' list. Then I force myself to write more, get past the block, and someday finish the story. Then i send it to a beta, read over it a few more times, agonize over a title, and post it.
I have been trying to flesh out a better outlining process though so that I can write with better flow but we'll see how that process goes haha!
Writing Asks
Do you have any advice for finding writing group chats or just people who like to write 1D/Larry fanfics in general? I'm getting ready to start writing a new fic, and I'd love to find some people who will support me and help me stay motivated to write.
Hi! I’d say you’re doing great by reaching out to people :) I don’t know of any open group chats right now, but there are tons of writers who are always posting wip snippets and tagging people, and I’d suggest jumping right in. A lot of people will say ‘tagging anyone who sees this’ and they really mean it, or even post a sentence from your wip and tag a bunch of writers you’d like to get to know better. They will likely reblog your post and tag you back.
Good luck on your new fic!
