Lumière Brothers, {1895} Démolition d'un mur (Demolition of a Wall)
#OnThisDay in 1895, brothers Louis and Auguste Lumière screened a series of short scenes from everyday French life at the Grand Cafe in Paris and charged admission. This is believed to be the world’s first commercial movie screening.

A snowball fight in Lyon, France, took place in 1896 and was captured on black and white film by Louis Lumiere, who was a French engineer and industrialist who played a key role in the development of photography and cinema.
