The scraping of metal against porcelain fills the room, and Louis brings the spoon up to Daniel’s lips.

Pre s3 me was so naive, thinking that I could get Louis being Daniel's stepmaker, coming to pick Daniel up right after Lestat's documentary ends for the night, cause he can't be trusted alone after the incident. Louis teaching him, what —ironically— Armand taught him. Daniel acting like a complete brat, and at some point he slams the door to Louis' face, yelling at him "you're not even my real maker!"... but he still wants to be near Louis. (And since I found that Lemuel was gonna be Louis' companion, he got into the story too, wondering why the hell he had to take care the fledgling of his companion's ex, but I believe he could teach him some manners). And then Armand remembers to come back... Louis isn't gonna talk to him, but he can't send him away either, he is the boy's maker. So they end up coparenting. Barely talking at first. Armand tries, but Louis isn't having at first. As everything is going on, you know an actual plot, as rumours of ancients waking up go around, as Lestat draws too much attention from vampires, humans and even vampire hunters... Will Louis be drawn the chaos Lestat brings and he got addicted to? Or will he stay with his casual black boyfriend... and parent another fledgling, who knows properly this time (enter claudia haunting his ass), even if that fledgling's maker is back in his life, a man that has been lying to him for 77 years, and hurt him so much?

They had left the living room a bloodied mess – he, Armand and Lestat. A mess which the boy had walked straight into: uninformed, and unaware that all had ended – well. But even so, so much had happened that Louis had forgotten that this was indeed the night they had chosen to invite Daniel over. Lestat’s unexpected arrival had put all else out of his head. The vampire in question was sleeping soundly. An activity Louis would happily have let him continue, were it not for the fact that Lestat was preventing him from getting out of bed at all. Louis tried jostling him, only for Lestat to dramatically roll his neck, throw a thigh over his leg, and trap him even more thoroughly in place. Louis sighed. He was weak to this man, and for the moment at least…  he could not bring himself to shove him off. Mentally, he called out to the boy. A compromise. Everything's fine. Stay where you are. Louis was still eager to see him, for all that the night had not gone according to plan.

I'm VERY pleased with it and VERY excited to share.

Not so much in this first chapter but in later chapters it gets into Armand and everybody else's relationship to himself as Amadeo and Arun in some fun ways.

the latest episodes have put new loumandaniel dynamics into my brain. armand gets home after a long day of stalking and takes his shoes off at the door. louis is reading a newspaper in the foyer and he’s like hi baby how’s our boy and armand’s like oh he got tenure 🥰 and louis’s like omg honey that’s so nice. they photo copy daniel’s divorce papers and tape them to the fridge. louis runs into one of daniel’s daughters at a coffee shop and has a hearty little chuckle about it. me my husband and the guy we stalk when we get bored. me my husband and the boy we watch grow old in ways we never can. sigh. how romantic <3
