A few pieces from my Norwegian Kitchen Witch collection, or cottage witch, this kitchen tradition stems from older European customs and folklore from Scandinavia. She is said to bring good luck to one’s kitchen in the form of white magic helping ward off trouble. She exorcises all demons that try to invade the kitchen: pots will never boil over, milk won’t sour, casseroles won’t crack and cakes will be perfect. Harmony will prevail throughout the house as long as she is there to keep evil spirits at bay.
