It had been two years since he found him. Two years since everything in his whole world was turned upside down and inside out. And so he deserved to drink himself silly. 

Gansey wasn’t there. He had a thing for his mom’s campaign. 

Adam wasn’t there. He had to work as usual.

Noah wasn’t there. He wasn’t there most days lately. And when he was he was usually reliving his own death. Ronan didn’t need to see his best friend being beat to death in a similar was his father.No Ronan was alone. So there wasn’t anyone there to keep him from drinking himself silly. And by the time Blue showed up he was a crumpled mess on the floor just outside his bedroom.

Blue was surprised Ronan had sought her out. If he wanted to crawl into someone’s bed, she would’ve guessed it would be Gansey or Adam. She didn’t think he even slept much throughout the night. Then there was the risk of him bringing something unwelcome back from his dreams.

Nevertheless, she moved over some to give him more space. “What are you doing here? Come to spill all your secrets?”

“Parrish and Gansey are at his mom’s thing.” His two friends had left him to do some political crap. And his other option was a really bad idea, and something he’d promised Gansey he wouldn’t seek out. But he didn’t tell Blue that, in fact he ignored her question.

He tried to comfortable in her bed and failed, his legs were too long. “Shit, man, why are you so short? Did they buy you a special bed for short people?”

Romeo never thought she’d wind up in Henrietta, Virginia. She had done quite a bit of traveling, but it’d been to places like Paris, Barcelona, London, and Rome. None of that had been of her own volition anyway---all had been forced vacations by her mother to get the young Montague out of her hair. This trip, however, was entirely Romeo’s choice.

She had seen this place in her dreams: the small house at 300 Fox Way, with it’s towering trees and peeling sign. She didn’t know what was calling to her, exactly, only that it was strong. She could feel it now---just standing in this town felt different than anything she’d ever experienced. It was a rhythm in her feet and a thrumming in her veins; it was a living thing.

In all her dreams, the door was opened by a small individual with short black hair. Romeo knocked on the door, wondering if, this time, her gift would be accurate.

8. do you follow canon, or dump it in the trash?

canon is good, there are a lot of things i like about canon. but also the canon kinda sucks? like adam and ronan making racist jokes? no thanks. the way maggie treats noah? doesn’t he deserve a little love?

11. fluff or angst?

does this machine come with a swirl setting? (because both are good)

12. favorite book?

umm this one is so hard. i don’t think i can choose one book but if i had to recommend something to someone it would be Child Thief by an author who goes simply by Brom. it’s a great modern gothic take on Peter Pan that involves some degree of child torture and questionable morals.

i would also recommend Sharp Teeth by Toby Barlow. it’s a novel about a dog catcher who falls in love with a werewolf and it’s written in verse.

noah immediately let out a loud laugh at that. “i don’t think that’s how it goes, blue.” still, he leans in to gently press his lips against hers, entirely too aware of the contact the entire time and when he pulls away his smile has faded away ever so slightly. “i wish-” but he cuts himself off immediately because he isn’t even sure where he could go with that.

“of course.” noah has a bright grin on his face, resting comfortably next to her on the couch as he points to the computer screen. “it’s a haunted hotel, i could meet people like me.” there’s a very brief pause before he quickly continues. “it’s just for one night. we can see if it’s a hoax or not at the very least.”
