learning to skateboard is hard
So I've had this skateboard for years now.
It's got some weird decal on the bottom and stuff.
You know, because my parents found it in the trash, and decided to give it to me years ago.
But I was never allowed to ride it. It was too risky with having soccer and stuff.
Too much at stake.
...
Now, in the new era, that's not a concern anymore.
This skateboard has been unearthed to help with my commute from my internship.
This dusty, cobweb-covered skateboard has finally received the first love it's received since it was thrown out.
...
I'm no professional skateboarder, so I'm not a good judge of the quality of this board.
But taking it out today, now that I'm permitted to, I found no issues with it.
It works fine.
Rolls.
It's just hard to stand and balance on it and such.
But that's a given.
After all, this is the first time I'm finally allowed to stand on one of these things.
...
I'm not going to be ready to start using it tomorrow.
Or this week.
But that's fine.
I've been wanting to learn how to skate for a really long time now.
It's nice I've finally got a chance to.
Honestly, I'm loving this once-garbage skateboard.
Even if I don't use it for long, it'll still have been my intro to skateboarding.
...
And so my "sk8er boi" arc begins.
