It’s time for another brief art lesson [and the crowd goes wild]!

Until It Flowers Again...
Everything Flowers #WordlessWednesday #flowers #poetry
“My Mother’s Garden.” Photo by Suzette R.
The bud stands for all things, even for those things that don’t flower, for everything flowers, from within, of self-blessing; though sometimes it is necessary to reteach a thing its loveliness, to put a hand on its brow of the flower and retell it in words and in touch it is lovely until it flowers again from within, of self-blessing […] —Galway Kinnell

When we were…

I Know My Worth. Today's offering is the brief Alfa Holden poem my Love Notes friend/literary twin, Bianca N wrote on the back of the gorgeous floral postcard (above).

“Vetch and Milk Thistle.” Photographer, Art Wolfe.
As I head into the weekend and to Sabbath rest, I am whispering in my spirit the penultimate verse of John Greenleaf Whittier’s poem, “Soma.”
Many recognize the words from the hymn, “Dear Lord and Father of Mankind,”but do not know they come from the longer poem. What they also may not know is that Whittier–seeing it as showy or unnecessarily…
