As the commotion in the courtroom continued to swell, Lucy gave a sad smile.
Well, this was it, wasn’t it? After this, they’d go back to hating her, wouldn’t they? Rise and Kyu–well their normal selves wouldn’t want her around, right? Rise probably would be horrified about the scar she’d caused, and Kyu really didn’t care about her. The rest of the court? Those who she did interact with probably only tolerated her at most, because she was Kyu’s. Again, more people gone.
Minako probably still hated her for the panic attack she’d given her after last trial, not to mention her trying to make friends with someone who clearly didn’t give a fuck about her. Kris–well, she already hated her. No need to go any further for that. Sylva probably just was out of her mind, and she’d leave. Even Umbra–God, she’d just given herself away to people hadn’t she? …why did she still want to live again?
Oh, sure, she’d still have a -use-. She had alcohol for people who needed it (Kyu in particular she’d be giving more too), dug the graves (ha, another joke. She buried fucking stones, so she could feel useful–so she could feel good about herself.), money to help get through the penalties Monokuma would inflict on them…but no one cared about her.
She glanced down at her arm, the heart shaped scar still an angry red–an excellent reminder that what Rise had said was right. She couldn’t shackle herself to people–they’d just fuck her over in the end. Ultimately, she’d just lost even more these weeks, hadn’t she. Ah well. The gardens probably needed work, didn’t they.
