I spent the day in Wells, BC today and got to celebrate their 20th anniversary as a municipality. Wells was a gold rush town that boomed in the 1930’s & 1940’s and the founder wanted to attract mine workers that were also family men with other skills - like a musician, artist, writer etc. This diversity of talents has permeated the culture in Wells. At the old movie house I met an internationally known playwright. At the old church, now a gallery, I met an artist who has works in exhibits around the world. Everywhere in Wells there’s a unique person with a unique business or talent. The host the big annual #ArtsWells event, but also other festivals and activities all throughout the summer. I encourage you to stop in to Wells and make it your home base for some pretty sweet adventures in the Cariboo too (like canoeing #BowronLakes). Thanks to Wells for hosting me today - and for the birthday cake 🎂 #ExploreWells #ExploreBC #ExploreCariboo @hellobc #LoveWellsBC #LoveWells #Cariboo #WellsBC @zenseekers #BC #BeautifulBC #ExploreCanada #Canada #BritishColumbia #britishcolumbiamagazine #sharecangeo #northernbc (at Pooley St. Cafe)
