I really want to be fit and toned in the stomach area. I have seen results on my upper abs and a bit on the sides but cannot seem to find any really good lower abs exercises that work, could you give me some?
Lower abs are the trickiest part to tone. First I will say - for fat loss anywhere you have to do cardio. Your lower abs may be the last place you lose fat, but you still have to do it to see changes. Second - diet, for flat abs (and an all over fit body) diet is SO important. Eat clean.
Some exercises though. Double leg/Single leg/Reverse leg lowers on your back are great. Hallow hold, or hallow hold pulses (just pulsing your legs up and down a few inches in hallow hold position). Heel taps in hallow hold position. Reverse crunches. Or laying on the down on an incline bench and doing crunches up (first without weights then adding weight for resistance) is great for low abs. Blogilates has some great lower ab videos. The key with all low abs exercises is.. if you feel your back, you are doing it wrong. Your back should be flat on the ground and everything is truly working because of how hard you are engaging your abs.
Good luck!
