Besides meeting/acquiring a Lowborn companion through a friend, any advice for making contact with them or befriending them?
Astral to their realm, and from then on it’s pretty much like meeting a human friend for the first time. Like you don’t approach the very first one you see like “hey I do magic shit do you want to work with me?” Instead you maybe find something to do and possibly meet someone that way.
Their realm is pretty open to everyone except those with hellborn (particularly deep hellborn) energy on them. This is because it’s a security measure - one of the reasons Lowborn society was started was because it was made of demons that have had enough of deep hell “wars for fun!” bullshit.
Btw for a general “mood” of how Lowborn cities feel- Blood Lad on Hulu is a pretty good representation (though more oriented towards gang-led areas, of course). Modern to higher tech, with demons, vamps, fallen angels, and other fantasy critters of various shapes and sizes existing and working in a place that feels like a weird earth AU.
