LREF Gender/Sexuality Headcanons
Adam is a xenogender cis guy. Like he's a man but I do think he'd discover xenogenders and go crazy for a while. Idk what labels he'd have exactly but even years later you'll ask for his pronouns and he'll say "I like sharks :)" and mean it. As he gets older he adopts a Ms. Frizzle/Weird Al-esque gender presentation. He/💥/basically any noun-self.
Adam is either aroace or the kind of person who gives absolutely no indication of ever wanting a relationship and then suddenly they're married. I could see him with any gender but my hc is that he ends up with a sweet librarian/teacher :)
Bree is a girl, either cis or trans (i like the trans hc bc she was originally a boy in BDF, + it would kinda explain why she's the only girl among her siblings). She does have some alienating feelings in regards to her gender so maybe nonbinary too but definitely at least girl-adjacent.
To me Bree is a repressed lesbian... growing up she had extreme comphet & was basically totally disconnected from everyone she knew. She probably has a "girl crazy" phase to rival even her boy crazy phrase once she realizes. I do like the idea of Bree ultimately not ending up in a relationship (just cause not everyone needs to & it would be a good way to conclude her arc i think). She/her
Chase is a trans guy. I know that kinda contradicts what I just said about Bree but shhh. Chase's constant striving for masculinity is just kinda inherently trans-coded. Plus I think there's an added layer if you consider that if Chase is transmasc, his family is certainly supportive (he's been medically transitioning since a young age) so any insecurities he has are mostly self-inflicted... yum. Chase & Bree are the overcompensation of gender twins. He/him.
Chase is a bisexual 🏳️🌈 not much to say but he's a hopeless romantic.
Like father like son, Douglas is also trans and bisexual. Is it controversial to say that I think he & Giselle had a whirlwind lesbian romance before he transitioned
Leo & Donald are both in the category of "straight guy that everyone assumes is gay". They have that Vibe. This is its own gender too. He/him for Donald, he/they for Leo (not that he strives for they/them it just happens sometimes & he's chill with it)
Marcus is agender. They purely view gender as something you Do, not something you Are, and they have a breakdown when they realize thats not how everyone sees it. Fine with any pronouns (mostly presents as a fem man) but thinks of themself w they/them or no pronouns
They're aroace but they're the type to date anyone who asks, at least in high school. Luckily they gave off such gay vibes that no girls ever did. They might date in the future but they'd do it Aromantically(TM).
Dani is butch, his gender is lesbian... literally nothing else matters. I could see her as transfem, transmasc, nonbinary etc as long as they're a butch lesbian 👍 she/her mostly
Kaz is a gay guy, maybe asexual too. I could see him being transmasc too, HOWEVER☝️it's important to remember that everything Kaz isn't, Oliver is— therefore, if Kaz is transmasc, Oliver is transfem. This actually works out pretty well, Oliver is heavily egg-coded tbh. He/him but maybe he/she once she's Enlightened enough
Oliver is either a trans guy or a trans girl. If he's a trans guy, then Kaz is nonbinary/genderfluid. He/him or she/her depending
Since Kaz is gay, ace, and kind of shallow (overcompensating by going after girls who would never like him back), Oliver is bi and somehow both aroallo & a hopeless romantic (overcompensating by fixating on only one person). It only has to make sense to me.
Skylar is a girl... kind of. Ve's a type of girl anyway. But mostly ve thinks of verself as Skylar. Ve had to go from a planet thats mostly women to a planet thats only 50% women & thats still weird for ver sometimes. Skylar still thinks of verself with vaer native pronouns (ve/ver/vaer). She/her or ve/ver depending
Skylar is probably ace and assumed she was aromantic too until she met the right person. Romance is heavily suppressed on Caldera since it distracts you from your duties. Strangely enough not a lesbian (the only way I can explain this is some weird Rose Quartz thing where she just sees everyone as default women regardless of presentation)
