I’ve made a simple website for LSD Portable, where I will temporarily upload the android APK to, simply because I’m doing this for fun and I want to spend no money on a google dev account which I will only ever use once in my life. Although I might in the future. As for IOS I’m not sure how that’s going to go, I’ll see in the future. For now, the small, free website is here: lsdportable.tk

As for game updates I’ll try to implement something that will automatically download the apk from my website and install (not sure if that will work, but I’ll figure something out).

LSD Revamped Festive Blog Update

It’s not really gonna be that festive, but here’s the most festive screenshot I could take!

First of all, merry Christmas to everyone! Secondly, hi, I’m not dead and neither is the project.

So, onto the actual news about LSD:R. Unfortunately over the last few months I haven’t been able to work on LSD:R much at all, it’s been a very busy semester (I’m in my final year of a Computer Science degree). On the bright side, I’ve been working a lot on university projects that involve VR and various areas of computer graphics, and I’ve come out of them with tonnes of ideas of what to put in LSD:R!

The main thing I have been working on is what I’m calling ‘libLSD’ (https://github.com/Figglewatts/libLSD). It’s a C# library for loading data files from LSD: Dream Emulator (the original game). From this I’m going to build a data file viewer for the game (https://github.com/Figglewatts/LSDView) and also integrate it into LSD:R, meaning the game will be even more like the original game!

Something else I’ve been working on is more reverse engineering of the files from the original game, and I have some very good news about this: I’m pretty sure I’ve figured out how to rip animation data from the game!

I’ll soon be integrating this animation data reading into libLSD (right after I implement model loading), so watch this space for more details.

My hope for libLSD and LSD:R is that I’ll be able to load every last piece of data from the original game for an almost completely accurate (in terms of assets) remake!

To this end, I am considering delaying mod support until I can get the original game as good as possible. My first step for releasing mod support will be a semi-private beta test just to iron out any bugs that might’ve slipped through, but this is a long way off currently.

Still alive, update time

LSD Revamped is still alive, as am I, and I’m still working on it.

Still ripping levels, have had very busy personal life past few months, apologies to everyone. I’m aiming to get the next update out before Christmas -- I’m still fairly busy.

In other news, the website and this domain may see a tiny bit of downtime in the near future but don’t worry it’s nothing serious. I’m just transferring web hosts at the moment.

Going to attempt to write more regular blog posts, so hopefully see you all soon!

LSD:R still alive, still busy with life

Hey everyone, just a quick update to tell you all that I’m still alive and the project is still not dead. It won’t ever die, I’ll never let it, but I’m just busy with life at the moment so I can’t work on it!

I need to see what percentage of my viewers have an iPhone or android, as then I know whether or not I have to be worried about the iPhone release. Shouldn't be a problem though, I'll get something figured. If you could vote, that would be great. Thanks all!

Streaming Behind Scenes?

So I was thinking to start streaming some behind the scenes for LSD:P for all to see over at twitch. I just want to know how many people would come over to say hi if I did. You would see behind the works of the original LSD Dream Emulator too, since I have things such as the games maps and mechanics. You would also see new additions to the remake too, and of course just chill out as well. Tell me in the comments if I should do that!
