you don’t know how long it’s been since she’s been gone, but the lack of warmth forces you to start your day. walking to the living room, you spot her, sitting at the dining table with her laptop spread wide open.
“hi” you press a kiss to her cheek and wrap your arms around her shoulders from behind her. lisa only hums and pecks your forearm, caressing your skin with her thumb. “li” you use the tip of your finger to poke her shoulder, but no budge.
“give me just a second hon”
“babe” you poke again “I won’t stop poking you until you pay attention to me.”
“ahh” lisa sighs, closing her laptop shut and turning around to face you as she leaves the chair “you’re a little shit” she begins “but you’re my little shit, let’s make you some breakfast”
“walk love to the park later?” walking closer, you wrap your arms around her waist as she gets out the necessary ingredients to make the scallion pancakes batter.
“sure” lisa smiles and pecks your lips, letting herself look at your for a second. she loves admiring you this time of day, your hair still tousled even if she knows you tried to tame it running your hands through it. your eyes still squinting and adjusting to light, clingy from the lack of warmth for the last few hours. she hasn’t had enough of you, she never could, but she promised breakfast minutes ago and if she loves anything more than looking at you just as you wake, is watching you eat something she made for you.
