hey nonny, i am having a fine day! as it happens i had to drag chat in on this one bc i couldn't remember if fei du ever still consulted for SID. but no, as the extras confirm, he is back to full-time CEO:

so having pulled off what clean profits he could, ahead of his plans (since he knows all the dirty money would be confiscated by the government once everything's discovered), he's now managing a new conglomerate, though it apparently has a different name; we don't ever find out what the name is, because lu jia can't remember. this is relevant because lu jia is, in fact, its chief administrative officer, and zhou huaijin (now known as "zhou da-ge," which is adorable) is the chief financial officer (and where is my 85k fic of their zany adventures and slowly falling in love? where?? WHERE?).

in the extras, there are various references to president fei's working late, having boozy business lunches, making phone calls and sending emails, and, in particular, where he has his home office set up:

so there you have it: best wfh arrangement ever. cat, beverage, pillows, and half-naked sweaty luo wenzhou. not sure how fei du handles zoom calls but i'm sure he can just blur out the background.

as far as timestamps, though? i sure do not. mo du is somewhere in the neighborhood of 540-550k words long, and i have my personal annotations but a proper version would take a zillion hours to do. plus in most places, my note for e.g. "romantic scenes" would just be "these whole five chapters in a row." if you're not a reading person, though, may i recommend the audio drama? it's still on maoer and widely acknowledged to be pretty spectacular, you can find instructions for how to access it on this carrd. thank you for this question nonny it made me stupid happy. xoxoxo!

Aside from ZhouDu my fave character in Mo Du is definitely Lu Jia (Du Jia in JITD), I just have an immense softness for him for some reason 🤧 Also him and Zhou Huaijin(g) together are absolutely hilarious, truly a duo I didn't know I needed but I'm so glad I got! I'm so looking forward to their arc in the show lol

I found this drama on YouTube two days ago and I have to prepare my mind for the future pain. And the chinese drama is adapted from a novel of the same name by Yan Bo Jiang Nan.

A notorious general and an aristocrat's daughter hold each other's hands to spend a lifetime together whilst protecting what's precious to them.

Shen Jin grew up in luxury as a member of the royal family. After the emperor decrees an arranged marriage, she is married off to a general who defends the borders. Hi, I've recently found justice in the dark and I'm also now reading mo du and I just had a question, is there a reason that in the show he's Pei Su but in the book Fei Du, is it just the way it's translated?

alas, nonny, all the name changes are an attempt on the part of the showrunners to get distance from the novel and make the drama less of a love story. i know the logic seems…strange at best, but trust me this is not the first time—cf. the spirealm, which also changed the names of both mains. you have probably noticed by now that i ignore both completely and chronically refuse to use their dumb drama names, because while "luo weizhao" maybe isn't that bad, "pei su" sounds like something you'd name your hamster. it's not at all the right name for an elegant gabillionaire scion/racecar driver/self-torturing genius, so i will not be saying that now or ever, thank you.
