I really love the duality of man in James and The Giant Peach musical

because on one hand it's just a tiny, cute show that's simple and perfectly appropriate to be staged by children and on the other hand Paul & Pasek decided to write the most unhinged double entendre song for middle schoolers to perform:

The Boy and the Heron (2023)

The Boy and the Heron has one brief scene late in the film where characters are being affected by electricity, causing some arcing effects. This occurs just after a stairway to a door is destroyed, and when the sound of electricity is gone, the rest of the film is safe to watch.

There are some brief POV shots from a character running at full speed, which depict both their speed and disorientation caused by the effort. There are also some flying scenes. The fact that this is a traditionally-animated feature mitigates a lot of the motion sickness risk.

Flashing Lights: 3/10. Motion Sickness: 3/10.

TRIGGER WARNING: Early in the film, a character self-inflicts an injury that bleeds profusely. War violence, including civilian casualties, is depicted. Some body transformations may be disturbing to some audiences.

this is so meta, it’s unreal. they put us in the monster’s pov for three (3) seasons, having us question if joe’s past is the reason, if his mother, his father and mr. mooney were the bad people for even making him in the first place just to finally show him from a victim’s pov in season 4 and all of a sudden, you stop caring about the why. it’s not understandable anymore, just completely and utterly terrifying.
