JOURNAL ENTRY #2

today was also a lot, one of my best friends wasn't at school :( and i came home to some complicated stuff when i really just wanted to relax which was pretty eh but i'm not going into details with that. we got our new english lit teacher today and she's boring as hell it's driving me insane she doesn't let me listen to my music :( on a positive note, i wrote zel this little (me when i lie i yapped so much) letter and i think it was really sweet and that just made me happy i love writing letters <3 i also planned my hypothetical trip with my friend to go see gracie and i'm so hyped for that even if it doesn't happen the excitment is sooo real rn!! we figured out costs and stuff yk, i loveee planning trips!! right now i'm looking forward to the hypothetical gracie trip (ignoring its in april next year IF it does actually happen) and formal!! i'm wearing this dark blue dress and going with all my friends i'm sooo excited!!

Something I've been thinking on

I wanted to point something out to the parts in our system when it occurred to me it might be a reminder to other parts and systems too? Idk

Anyway this is your reminder that:

You can change your name as many times as you want to

You can change your appearance any time you want to

There's no shame in asking someone to call you a different name than before (even if it's the 3rd one that week)

It really is ok

I think a lot of parts, in my system at least, feel like they choose a name and an appearance and that's it. Like they're stuck to it. They aren't. And shouldn't feel like they are!

Parts of our system have changed their names loads of times, many change how they look. She even quite frequently. And when denial hits, it's easy to latch onto these things as 'proof' that we're faking because 'we can't keep internal consistency' we've even had people tell us this.

It's bullshit.

If you want to change your name and appearance there is no shame in doing so. Do what's right for you. That's what matters.

This applies to people without DID as well! I just aimed it at systems, but it applies to anyone!

love to write people talking about their feelings, love to write dialogue, but the second it comes to describing how two people find each other in order to have a conversation i’m at a loss. just, a simple and direct way to describe how these humans located one another and began to communicate: i don’t have it

in my next fic people are gonna start getting dropped into conversations with a big crane. UA just has that now

if there's interest in more complex/more rendered style i could maybe have two slots for that type which would be something similar to this and this
