The thing that trans people of the other gender don't understand is that trans people of my gender are pressured and bullied into conforming to our assigned gender which is mentally and often physically dangerous. We receive tacit approval for conforming to our assigned gender and are punished for conforming to our proper gender. Since I never experienced pressure in the opposite direction, clearly trans people of the other gender didn't either. Everyone in the world must have experienced this pressure in the same direction as me, so trans people of the opposite gender were receiving tacit approval and support for transitioning, and are not oppressed like trans people of my gender.

many surgeons are starting to offer preservation options for patients who want a more mixed look/don't want to lose what they have
You can get hard without needing an implant, it's usually a smaller one- or two-step surgery and mostly only uses tissue from the genitals themselves (good if you're worried about taking the graft skin, eg if you have tattoos you want to preserve or don't want to do hair removal), and it doesn't prevent you from getting phalloplasty in the future if you want it (it can be done as a first step towards a phallo if you want).

All these different bits can be done in basically any combination;
The simplest version is "simple meta" which can be done as day surgery, which just releases the shaft and glans from the labia minora and genital plate, leaving everything else as-it-is. The suspensory ligament is cut, which gives you more length and freedom to get erect.
Then there is urethral lengthening, where you take a graft of squamous skin from inside your cheek, which is used to form the channel of the urethra, and the shaft is closed around it.
Then there is fat grafting, where fat from somewhere else in the body is injected into the shaft to make it thicker. It can also be done with a ring-shaped or straight skin graft around/along the shaft, so your original glans sticks out the front (with or without a urethra), then the shaft is thicker than before.
Then there's bifid scrotoplasty, which just frees the inner and outer labia on each side to make two separate scrotums, one to hold each ball, which fall together to look like one.
Then VY scrotoplasty, which involves rearranging the inner and outer labia into a single scrotum which sits in front of the urethra if you didn't have UL.
And all of this can be done with or without colpectomy (ie, closing the introitus) and the colpectomy itself can be done to any depth (so if you want to still have a short introitus which can self lubricate and be penetrated with fingers/tongue just not with anything bigger, that is physically possible). For colpectomy you need to have hysterectomy, but if you don't have colpectomy, you can choose to not have hysterectomy either.
And, all of this can again be done alongside getting unburied phalloplasty, so you can end up with effectively a double-decker, or even a triple-decker depending on how you think about your introitus - Or, if you don't like your metoidioplasty you can still convert it to buried phalloplasty.
Special mention also has to go to "DIY meta and scroto" which is just getting a deep triangle piercing or a triangle ladder, then stretching the piercing(s) a long way, and finally cutting through the remaining labial tissue to free the shaft from the labia, whilst the "scroto" is a pair of outer labia piercings, stretched and linked by a heavy ring or even weights which gives the sensation of having "something there".
