22. a song you related to in the past and present, but for different reasons
i got this question the last time i did this too and i had to think about it for a really long time. i think i just don't rly "relate" to music usually, that's not how i engage with what i listen to. but it's a cool question! lemme see if i can find a different answer this time! please hold
maybe death by made in heights? again, "relate" is a tricky word for me, i honestly can't identify any song that fits that bill. so this is more of a song that Feels different to me now than it used to? this is about to be such a ridiculously hokey-pokey answer.
when i first discovered this song i truly think my brain was too small to comprehend it. i was a dumb freshman in high school and it was my first honest and personal foray outside of pop music and it just broke open this whole world in front of me, and i was honestly kinda overwhelmed. it's been 10-ish years since then and i can hold it in my hands now, wrap my head around it. i used to cling onto it like this buoy in a brave new world and now i can turn around and see all of the wonderful music and poetry i've loved over the years, and far far in the distance, at the beginning of it all, is the little sparkle of this song.
also i kissed a girl by katy perry. bc i used to think wow what a scandalous and catchy song! and now i want to kiss girls
