LUCIDIUM - HYBRIDIZED/POLARITIES [OFFICIAL LYRIC VIDEO] (2019) SW EXCLUSIVE
Yes, I’m back. Thank you for taking your time reading this review, and I’m afraid it will be a short one at that. I’ll leave you to the summary, and my thoughts right after. Yes, I have some screenshots, so... at one point, keep scrolling at your own risk.
Dragons were never meant to be caged. Catori must escape an ancient order bent on hunting down the last of her kind, or face certain extinction. The Lucidium Order is a private sect which trains gifted warriors to capture anomalous creatures laced with magic. They’ll stop at nothing to reacquire her powers for themselves. When she finds two unlikely allies in a pair of Paladin warriors, brothers Leland and Tarek, they struggle to trust one another. Determined, the trio set out to find Catori’s remaining family, who are rumored to be the last of a legendary clan of dragons. All they find is a myriad of lies fracturing all their beliefs as they hit endless dead ends. Not everyone wants the truth about Catori’s past surfacing, and they’ll betray anyone to keep it concealed forever. This is book 1 of a riveting urban-fantasy adventure series from USA Today Bestselling Author Alexia Purdy. Book 2: Arcadian Coming Soon! (less)
This book aroused mixed feelings. At first, it seemed like a single POV, then it changed unexpectedly to double, then third, then double, then single... without warning, and it took me forever to accept the fact and to reason with my mind that there were different POVs, to begin with, and that I was not going crazy!
Catori has been kidnaped long ago when she was a kid and kept prisoner of an institute that has shown her no mercy on studying her kind. She’s not utterly alone since another kin was taken as well. Ultimately, these friends will escape, but only one will succeed. While Catori escapes and finds shelter, and far more than she could’ve hope: allies; the Order sends in one of their best trackers, Leland and his brother... some sort of bargain and oaths will issue between this trio, and a very fragile truce might come to pass.
Honestly, I don’t know how to continue this review. It felt interesting, but I was mostly confused for 80% of the book when I’m thrown for a spin delivered by the author. Oops, forgot to mention that this story is about dragons. Shifters. No wonder I kept going when I was mostly confused and spent. So, I guess I’ll leave you the review since I can’t can’t figure out what else to say. But I’ll add that this book might not be for you... and I can’t really say why or how...
