Skipped day 5 of @wayhavenmonthly to spend more time on day 6; cookies! (Felix made one of himself but he already ate it)
A really rough doodle for Day 1 of @wayhavenmonthly ‘s March prompt list. Mason doesn’t pay compliments often but the Detective thrives on praise, God help them...
@wayhavenmonthly Day 3 - Music
(I didn’t feel like doing day 2 lmao...yaboi is busyyyy rn)
“Soooo, you and Mason?” Felix nudged the Detective and wiggled his brows, eyes gleaming. The Detective let out an embarrassed, but genuine laugh.
“Yeah yeah...you wish.” He retaliated, poking his tongue out at his friend.
The two continued on, silent for a breath, before Nick added:
“Besides, it would never work...”
Felix looked up suddenly, his gaze urging the Detective to elaborate.
“He doesn’t like music!”
Felix let out a sigh of relief, the Detective’s exclamation was far more trivial than he was expecting.
“Like, I totally understand. But dude, I am ALWAYS playing music.” Nick laughed and shook his head, but his companion couldn’t help but notice the splash of red that had slowly spread across his cheeks.
@wayhavenmonthly day 9 - Sunshine
Yet another ‘quietly-pining-Mason’ drabble because I’m predictable (I skipped day 8 coz it hella stumped me lol) Mason had not fully expected the Detective to prefer the night-time as he did, but ever since their conversation on the rooftop that one night, he had become far more aware of it. For one thing, the Detective was not a fan of warm weather. He was always one of the first to complain on particularly hot, sunny days, but would rarely comment when he was clearly cold. He wore a specific squint-frown when beams of sunlight usually made others smile.
But Mason noticed how his eyes sparkled at dusk, entranced by the sun painting the sky in all manner of colours as it dropped below the horizon. He loved to let his dark coils of hair fall around his shoulders, like a shawl, when the sun was no longer there making it too hot to do so.
On one occasion, he heard Rebecca’s son talking excitedly with Nat and Felix about going camping, of all things, telling them that there was nothing like seeing a sky full of stars and falling asleep to the sounds of nature. He apparently really wanted to go with them sometime. Mason could not deny it was a trifle endearing.
@wayhavenmonthly day 10 - History
More Mason x Detective drabbling because I am boring :)
@wayhavenmonthly day 4 - Sleep
As they walked back to the Detective’s apartment, Mason, as usual, was studying every detail of him with his intense grey eyes. Only instead of his typical smirk, Mason’s expression could almost pass for concern.
The Detective was practically falling asleep on his feet, dark lashes fluttering ever so delicately over his eyes, fighting to stay open. It was such a small movement, easy to miss, even the slight dragging of his feet wasn’t new - Rebecca’s son always had a bit of a clumsy gait. Mason wondered if the others had even noticed how exhausted the Detective seemed, or if it was something he actively tried to hide.
Detective C blinked suddenly and met his gaze, expression unreadable. Mason looked away quickly. For once he wanted the shorter man in bed for its intended purpose of sleep, but he wasn’t about to let anyone know that.
