ON THE WAY TO THE WEDDING (2006)
“I should go,” she said. But he didn’t move. And neither did she. —Chapter eleven.
i don't need no christmas wishes (when i got your candy cane kisses)
“Gregory?” Lucy whispers, her breath fanning across his face, and he can’t see her anymore, only caught a glimpse of her before Hyacinth slammed the door on them, but somehow he knows exactly what she must look like: her chin tilted up to face him, her eyes wide and surprised, her red-stained lips parted, her hair cascading down her back in perfect waves. “Hi,” Gregory whispers back, his hands flexing where they had ended up on her waist, “You alright?” Gregory can feel her move slightly, only realising she was nodding her head when after a moment he hears her laugh at herself. The noise is soft and tinkling and if he doesn’t get some space between them soon Gregory knows he’s going to do something impulsive and stupid. (He doesn’t move at all.)
During the annual Bridgerton Christmas party, Hyacinth locks Gregory in a closet, but strangely, he’s not really upset about it. Maybe it has something to do with Lucy Abernathy being stuck in that same closet. (Gregory/Lucy, Gregory & Hyacinth)
