I wish we can play these type of game as an adult... I have a list of folks I want to knock out.
Suhoor and iftar are not just meals; they are moments filled with mercy and meaning. Waking up for suhoor teaches sincerity—choosing Allah over sleep, reminding us that small, hidden acts are beloved to Him.
Breaking the fast at iftar softens the heart, making us feel deep gratitude for blessings we often forget, like water and dates. These moments train humility, reminding us how weak we truly are without Allah’s help. The Sunnah teaches us to keep suhoor simple and to break the fast quickly when the time is right for iftar, showing that Islam is built on balance, mercy, and ease, as practiced by Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him).
Du‘as are highly accepted before the time of iftar—so ask not only for this world, but for forgiveness and a good ending in the Hereafter. If we eat with remembrance, gratitude, and sincerity, even our meals become a form of ibadah.
I'm concerned about myself, but I'm less concerned about 'only myself'.
