For those of you who might be wondering if personal art is ever coming back to this blog, then YES, absolutely YES. Me and @zlukaka are writing our City and the Beast novel whenever we can, and as soon as it is ready we will start publishing chapters online (this year, so help us aliens or whoever XD) and then there will be a whole looooot of original characters stuff happening on our blogs, and that thought gives us life. As always hammering our stuff into a shape that is ready to be released is taking longer than we thought it would but we are on it! OC stuff is what keeps us going through life, we discuss plot twists and character arcs everyday, and if it absolutely doesn’t show on either of our blogs it’s only because we believe in no spoilers until the thing is ready. I personally wouldn’t want to get to know a character and keep seeing them for years before I get to read about them, I would actually not be interested anymore after a while. So that’s why we keep everything secret, for it to be super cool and fresh when it hits your dashboards :3 And yes, some things we had to keep secret since 2010, it’s painful, but I think it’ll be worth it to get to know these characters now and not years ago when there was no accompanying content.
Eyes of the Swarm is also by no means forgotten, but novels, while also challenging are still way easier/faster to do than a game/visual novel so that’s why we chose to focus on publishing our books first and Swarm needs to wait. But EoTs will happen one day, once we get the stories out here it should be easier to find the time to dabble in the Swarm development again. Showing what we did from EoTs was a kind of desperate need to show ANYTHING. And EoTs seemed least spoilery, since all we showed happens before the plot of the actual game. And it was met with a lot of warmth from you, so thank you so much for that! We hope you will welcome our novels and characters from them as well :3
Anyway, what’s happening on our blogs is deceptive, and that’s why I am writing about it to clarify. Zlu is quiet because she’s really overworked and whenever she’s got some time we spend it on stories, and she also really wants to finish her Dishonored comic she started years ago, so she’s working on that too. I draw adopts and commissions because that’s what I do to make a living right now and I don’t see why I shouldn’t show them on my blog. Recently I’ve been told by someone that they preferred when I didn’t draw stuff for sale. Well duh, thanks, me too, I also preferred that, I think everyone prefers to do their own stuff but nobody pays me to draw my OCs, so sadly this is how it’s gonna be. But I do love drawing, and if I can make a living by creating characters for other people, then I am going to do it, honestly, it’s a dream job, especially if I can get it to pick up more (I am also getting better at art thanks to these so it’s win-win). And while this is not the content I want to focus on, and probably not the content you followed me for, I hope my designs are not horrible to see. This is just the interim. But good stuff is coming, it’s our greatest goal to finally show our projects to you, because we’ve been working for so many years on these things and showing them to people was always our greatest dream.
