Happy late Lammas from Australia!!

I meant to post this a few days back but I forgot….

Myself and a small group of friends met up and had a picnic and made some wild fire protection charms based off ones found in Frances Billinghurst’s ‘Dancing the Sacred Wheel’.

Alternatives to breadmaking for this lughnasadh:

Boa buns - custard dessert ones, or savory dinner ones. Can be decorated. Bread-ish, but takes less time than bread.

Pasta making - or buying fresh pasta - celebrates the grains

Rice dishes - rice is just as much about abundance as wheat is

Baking with fruits like apples, berries, and late-summer melons

Tortilla making, if that fits with your culture better

Cornbread - homemade, or that 99 cent Jiffy mix.

Lughnasadh Shona, both from the Gaelic Polytheist, and Lexie Wiccan in me. Sliabh Crúibe in my Co. Down home was an historic site for Lughnasadh celebrations where it’s still customary to bring a stone to the top….and the latter a site where lots of libations were made. It wouldn’t be a Monday morning without a wine hangover of course

Preparing all my fun things for my first harvest/Lughnasadh ritual at sunset tonight. I'm so happy that my pear tree finally yielded some fruit this year too! It's been six years since we last got some! A bright Lughnasagh to all you Southies, and a bright Imbolc to all the Northies!
