The Lord of Death and Resurrection
Brighid's Syncretic Flame
A week into the month of February, and I’m only now accounting for my Imbolg. This year was a bit more memorable than previous ones, as I visited the shrine of the goddess most associated with this festival, Brighid. Brighid (Brigid, Bríd) is an important goddess in Ireland, as she’s venerated with traditions believed to be both pagan, and Christian, being a fusion of both the…

Rest in Power Jon Hanna
This is an awkward moment for me. When I’d normally be anticipating spring, the polarity of dark, light, and how that resonates with me, if it wasn’t for glances at social media posts advertising the Equinox and Full Moon, this period would’ve passed right over my head. It’s been almost a week since I layed my Craft Brother to rest, and my mind can’t escape constant flashbacks of past circles,…

Tribute to the Morrígan inspired by a line out of the poem from her prophecy following the victory after the second battle of Magh Tuireadh. Sciath for Durnd, "Shield on Fist."
Was honoured to receive this working under the talanted, and no better fitting, Morpheus Ravenna.
Imbolg shona!
How deadly is it having the Daghdha on Twitter?😅
What better night to burn the candle at both ends. Craving the light, and anticipating day again. Happy Solstice, agus Nollaig Shona daoibh go léir!
A personal adaptation of the Rose-Ahnk with a bit more significance. Maybe a few more to add.
Beannachtaí na Shamhna, agus Happy Halloween y'all!
Fómhar
It's the Autumnal Equinox. September in Irish is Meán Fómhair, "Mid Autumn/Harvest." October is Deireadh Fómhair, "End of autumn."..this coincidentally aligns with Oktoberfest, and since my bday was Monday, will attempt to culturally appropriate that with no shame!
Holy water, transporting libations the holy way 😅
Lughnasadh cultivation
Lughnasadh brought on different feelings within me this year. As a traditionalist I try to preserve some of the cultural traditions when able (mostly those associated with Bilberry Sunday), however with contemporary harvest festivals, like the majority of folk nowadays I’m mostly detached from the agrarian cycles being a bred city boy, even though I now live close to the countryside where the…

Lá Lughnasadh shona arís as Sliabh Crúibe, A former Lughnasadh focal point of our Co. Down where customary hikes, festivals, and folk music were had. These customs dwindled into Bilberry Sunday, until fairly recent efforts were made to revive such customs, however the most you usually see are fellow hill walkers, especially on days like today with shocking weather.... In which the Wiccan in me takes allegorical motifs from harvest myths to apply to my personal life...ie have a few pints in the pub
This trash polka personally remained abstract yet captured some of the Morrígan's iconography perfectly for me 🤘
Lá Bealtaine shona...before the rain came!
A full moon April 30th, 30 years after this wee rascal left us. Rememberence to my great granda from another gggrandma!
