hmm what about luvro going crazy and stupid on christmas market
Crazy and stupid in love it is!
For those unfamiliar: Luka Ivanušec x Lovro Majer
Fluff without plot, here we go.
Luka sits down on the couch next to the dark grey kitten that stares at him like he’s an intruder. It’s only his second time visiting his boyfriend in France, but this kitten better get used to it. Luka sticks his hand out for the creature to sniff. He was holding Lovro’s hand just minutes ago. This must smell familiar for the cat.
Lovro is in the kitchen making them some coffee. Or café au lait as he says now. He’s seriously studying that language. Luka doesn’t understand a word, but he doesn’t have to. He has no plans to move to Ligue 1 too. Although the current situation at Dinamo is such a shitshow, it would be tempting to leave and be closer to Lovro again.
Soon enough Lovro emerges from the kitchen with two cups of coffee and sits down next to Luka. The cat immediately gets up, walks across Luka’s legs, sits down in Lovro’s lap and starts purring loudly.
“Hey, that’s where I wanna sit” Luka says to the cat, jokingly.
The kitten only gives him an annoyed glance.

After having their coffee and catching up, the couple head out to do some sightseeing. There’s a Christmas market at the town square so they plan to just stroll around a little. The city of Rennes definitely looks cuter in winter than in summer, when Luka last visited. There’s fairy lights everywhere and the square is filled with little wooden stalls with local vendors trying to sell their goods. It smells like mulled wine and pine tree.
They look at decorations together. Lovro’s new house can still use some extra decorations. Luka brought him licitar from home, as well as some Dinamo merch so he never forgets his roots. At the Christmas market, they’re buying some handmade candles and a collection of wooden ornaments (the cat can’t break those). Lovro convinces Luka to try some local delicacy named galette-saucisse.
It’s a hearty crêpe wrapped around a sausage, kinda like a weird French hotdog. Lovro excitedly tells him all about the connection of this food to his new club. They sell these things at every match at Roazhon Park and the smell reminds everyone of match day. Luka listens intently, but soon enough he’s distracted by how Lovro’s eyes sparkle as much as the fairy lights around him. What a lucky man he is, getting to call him his.
Luka represses the urge to make a corny sausage joke as he watches Lovro finish his galette-saucisse. He instead gets them both a cup of mulled wine. They continue to walk around and stumble upon a corner that looks like more like a fair with games for kids and adults too. Lovro spots a vendor with a little football game. He drags Luka along to check it out. There’s a large wooden Christmas tree decorated with a few real Christmas baubles. You kick the footballs and if you break all the baubles, you win a prize.
“Mon dieu, c’est Leauvraux Meilleur!” the vendor exclaims.
Lovro laughs and wishes the guy a merry Christmas in his best attempt at French.
“You can’t play, monsieur, it’s not fair” the man continues.
“No no, I won’t take your grand prize” Lovro answers.
“But my friend can try, right?” Lovro continues, pointing at Luka.
The man gives a thumbs up and lines up five decent looking footballs for Luka. Luka gives Lovro a puzzled look. He’s too good to play this game but Luka can have a go? Really now?
“Come on, give it a try” Lovro says with a smug little smile on his face.
“Ok then” Luka answers. He places the first ball on the spot and focusses.
*CHINK CLANG SCRASH CLANK CHING*
All baubles broken. Luka wins. Lovro applauds him as if this isn’t what he expected. The vendor looks stunned.
“Bravo, bravo. Monsieur, you should be un footballeur professionel” the man says as he grabs a big box with Luka’s prize.
Luka accepts the prize awkwardly.
Lovro decided to make it worse by saying: “he really could be professional!”
He and the vendor laugh. Luka unwraps his prize to reveal a massive plush teddy bear. He hates it immediately, but he knows Lovro will love it. He just has to carry it around for the rest of the night then.
After having to take a photo of Lovro and the vendor, they finally move on.
--
“You little shit” Luka says. “Having me play that game as if I can’t hit all the baubles too..”
Lovro chuckles. “At least you won an amazing prize to take home.”
“Amazing? To take home? No this hideous thing is staying here at your place” Luka answers.
“Awh, my grumpy boyfriend won me a giant gift. So romantic!” Lovro teases.
“I’m not grumpy… I’ll just rather be holding you, and not this big teddy bear” Luka says.
Lovro smiles at him.
“Why don’t we go for a ride in the Ferris wheel together!” Lovro suggests.
“No way! You know I don’t like heights!” Luka answers, looking up at the giant Ferris wheel.
“It's Christmas time, there's no need to be afraid” Lovro sings like in that stupid Christmas song.
Luka rolls his eyes.
“Come on, once we get to the highest point, nobody will be able to see us and I can finally give you a kiss” Lovro adds.
Luka thinks..
“A French kiss?” he asks.
“I thought you didn’t like French things, but for sure” Lovro answers with a smirk.
“I’m in, let’s go” Luka says and he starts speedwalking towards the Ferris wheel.
