Papa Lion Was About to Punish Cub Until Mama Came. What Happened is Hilarious!
Dads are known to be rough when dealing with the kids – whether they are punishing them or just playing with them. I thought this only applies to human dads but apparently, the rough approach is the same with the animals. We all know that mothers, may they be humans or animals, are naturally overprotective when it comes to their children.
At the National Zoo in Washington DC, an amateur photographer by the name of Jennifer Lockridge was quick on her feet, taking remarkable photos of Luke the mighty lion as he cowers his head down while the lioness gives him an earful after he was a little rough with their daughter, Lusaka.
At first, Luke was pretending not to notice five-month-old Lusaka as she playfully bites her father’s tail. Luke later on gives in and joins the play fight.
The particular cub, Lusaka, is particularly feisty and is always one of the last ones to go inside when called. Lusaka is definitely a ‘daddy’s girl’ and seems to be the most enamoured with her father. She said the way five-month-old Lusaka and her father played together reminded her of human parents and their children. As the cubs have gotten braver, they approach Luke easily wanting to engage him in play.I don’t believe he realised she was biting his tail and he didn’t seem to be very upset. Lusaka has a habit of biting the tails of her siblings as well as the adults.

But then came Lusaka’s mother! She saw Luke pinning Lusaka to the ground in mock anger. Whether he was really angry or not, the lioness was not going to tolerate the behavior and so she growled loudly in front of Luke. The lioness gave Luke an earful as if she was saying, “Don’t be so rough with the kids!” Hilarious!
He is supposedly the king of their pack who will not hear it from anyone. But just like any husband who is under their wife, he cowers and admits defeat. Amazing!
