[ panic ] for your muse to grab mine’s arm or get behind them in a moment of danger (For Lukel!)
The footsteps behind her did not falter, nor stumble. Not like her's did. She could've sworn she had been running through the snow for bells but in the logical portion of her mind knew that not to be true. Still, Isuke could not even tell if it was one set of footsteps or more. How many more, she couldn't even concentrate on, for the encompassing darkness of trees seemed to envelope her threatening to take her in and consume her. She wanted to scream for help, to kick and throw a tantrum until someone saved her but she'd been taught by a certain someone that that's not always going to work.
That if she relied on such things, she would surely perish in this cruel, cruel world. So with labored breathing and quickly deteriorating stamina Isuke sprinted ahead, trying to spot anyone, anything that could help her and that's when the Ejinn saw it. An absolute beacon of hope ahead of her, something that Lukel would probably disagree on being called but she knew him for what he was. Protector, father, friend... The Good Doctor may lament such titles but as those words rushed through her she couldn't help but surge forward.
No scream came, no yelp of panic or terror. All the woman did was slide against the ground barely staying upright as her arms shot out to grab onto his arm and thud behind him, clinging to her father as if he was her final hope of survival.
In the end Isuke knew that if you were going to bet on someone, she'd put everything down for Lukel.
