a lukenemo fic where the hockey is hard and the sex is a learning process
Good isn’t the right word for what they’ve got going on.
Good is just the easiest way to describe it. A simple word, one of Simon’s favorites. Good shot. Good play. Good job.
more lukenemo drawings!! and also some designs for the buddy cop/bounty hunter Matt and Gabe!
it felt only right that if the bandits were the devils then the Rangers got to be rangers. so Gabe is hunting after the bounty on Luke's head with his partner (in more ways than one) Matt.
Happy, happy, happy immensely belated birthday to @jonasiegenthaler.
During the Western Canada roadtrip back in November, we joked about Nemo joining the broadcast booth and an idea planted itself in my head. Fast forward, with Jack's injury, thought about how funny it would be if we added Jack into the mix.
Then, you add a summer filled with various Nemo agendas and here we are.
All I've wanted to do while writing this fic was send you excerpts from it and it was killing me not to share this with you, but here it is.
ilysm.
a special shout out to @offside-the-lines and @43laney for beta-ing this fic for me. Your girl loves commas and fucks up her tenses and they were a godsend. and thank you to @lilyrizzy and @fadesse for reading all my little snippets and giving me feedback and cheerleading me on.
Read my fic here
you don't need to read the first fic in the series to know what's going on, promise.
Luke/Nemo, Nico/Jack (background, but very present & important)
E - 1/3 (11,181w for this part) - Creatures & Monsters AU - Star-crossed lovers - Inter-creature politics being a dangerous buzzkill - Themes of brotherhood and family and forging your own path in a world that really wishes you wouldn't. (Standard warnings of vampire stuff like blood drinking and whatnot apply)
Overall Summary: The Hughes' are vampires and Luke's in love with the heir to one of the most infamous vampire hunting family's in the world. And just because it isn't the Dark Times anymore doesn't mean that it isn't dangerous for both of them.
This part: The Hughes have disastrous love lives and it all comes to a head at the annual Winter Solstice Gala from Hell.
It took me way too long considering how short it turned out to be but I had fun regardless 😁 hope you like it 💕
“You missed our turn,” Nemo notes and Luke can barely keep his grin down.
“Don’t think so.” Luke lets the hand resting on Nemo’s thigh stroke up and down a few times, hoping it will keep his boyfriend distracted enough to not ruin the surprise for himself.
Frowning, Nemo turns to look out the window. “But your apartment is right that way.” If Luke could, he’d love to kiss the confused look off Nemo’s face right now, but as it is he has to keep his eyes on the road, his hands on the steering wheel and his lips to himself.
“We’re not going to my apartment.” Luke tries to stay as nonchalant as possible, but a hint of excitement stays in his voice.
“Did you plan out my stay so much I can’t even put my things away?”
“Mhm, not really. I thought we’d just make it a quiet two days, just chill a bit, catch up, have some nice food. Put the mattress to use.” At the last part, Luke squeezes Nemo’s thigh a little tighter, smiling at the little laugh it pulls from his boyfriend. Before Nemo can reply they pull into the parking lot, once again pulling Nemo’s attention towards their current endeavour. Nemo cranes his neck as he looks around the parking lot trying to figure out where they are.
“What do we want here?”
“You’ll see.” Luke leans across the centre console and steals a kiss from Nemo’s lips before getting out the car to grab Nemo’s bag out of the trunk. By now, Nemo seems to have resigned to his fate, following Luke in silence. When they enter the lobby, realisation seems to dawn, though Nemo still looks behind himself when they walk past the reception, right into the elevator.
“Don’t we need to check in?”
“I already did.” Luke drops Nemo’s bag onto the ground and presses the button to their floor, waiting for the doors to close before he’s on Nemo. It’s the first resemblance of privacy - and space - they’ve had since the airport and Luke is making the most of it, licking into Nemo’s mouth while backing him against the elevator wall. Nemo’s moan gets lost in Luke’s mouth; hands on his ass pull Luke in closer until no space is left between them. It’s a blissful moment after having spent way too long apart, their schedules hardly allowing them time for each other. If things went Luke’s way they’d have this every day - spending time just the two of them, getting to kiss whenever they feel like it, not having to sneak around two sets of team mates and having to keep the volume down when Jack is home. Reality looks different for them though, which is all the more reason to make the most of the two days they have.
Luke is about to slide his hand to the front of Nemo’s pants when the elevator comes to a stop. They startle apart, luckily finding the hallway behind the door completely empty. Giggling, Luke steps back from a breathless Nemo to pick up his bag again, leading him out of the elevator by the hand. The hallway isn't awfully long, but every step feels like one to many when anticipation is already thrumming under Luke’s skin.
Unfortunately, he has to let go off his boyfriend’s hand to fish the card out of his pocket and unlock the door. Once it's done, he simply pushes the door open and lets Neno walk inside first, finally losing the fight against the broad grin stretching over his face. He takes the whispered words in Slovakian as a good sign that his surprise is working. Nemo is looking around the room in awe while he walks further and further inside as though he doesn't even notice he's doing it. It’s exactly the reaction Luke hoped for when he booked them a suite with a view over the Hudson river.
Already sensing the question on Nemo’s lips the moment he turns around, Luke explains: “I didn’t feel like tiptoeing around Jack and figured we could treat ourselves a little.”
“A little.” Nemo repeats with a laugh while looking around the spacious suite. While the rooms the team usually books for them aren’t too shabby, this is definitely another few steps up the ladder.
“The restaurant is apparently amazing and they offer room service so we can pretty much stay right here the entire time.” Luke takes his coat off before steps closer to Nemo, wrapping his arms around his boyfriend from behind and pressing a kiss to his neck while they look out the window. The view over the river is breathtaking, made all the better by having the person he loves with him. Luke already can’t wait until it’s dark with only the buildings of New York illuminating the night and sparkling off the water while they sit and watch from the balcony. That is, if they can be bothered to get out of bed.
Closing his eyes, Luke ghosts more kisses over Nemo’s neck, his arousal stirring when Nemo sighs and melts into his arms a little more. He almost whines when Nemo moves away, though all complaints and other thoughts go out the window when Nemo turns around and kisses Luke. Nemo's hands are on Luke’s face, thumbs stroking over Luke’s cheeks as though he's the most precious thing in the world, as though Nemo still can't quite believe he gets to have this. It's a little habit Luke hopes he never loses.
“Thank you for the surprise, my dear. I love it.” When they kiss this time it's a little more insistent, lips parting and tongues exploring while they work on pushing Nemo’s coat off his shoulders. Luke can soon feel Nemo’s hard-on press against his hip and he groans into their kiss from his the thought of getting his mouth on it. He pulls away reluctantly, taking Nemo’s hand again to pull him towards the bed.
“Impatient.” Nemo huffs but laughs when Luke pushes him onto the mattress.
“Always.” Luke grins when he pulls his shirt over his head. Nemo is about to get to work on his jeans when Luke straddles his lap and directs his attention to his own mouth. He kisses their breaths away, leaving Nemo with red lips and gasping for air when he leans back. Luke’s heart is wildly beating in his chest when he thinks about how lucky they both got with each other, about how all the pining and worrying was worth it to arrive here.
