Dear Replacement, There are a few things I think you should know, as you are now the object of his affection. 

Don’t be surprised at how quickly you’ll fall for him, and don’t feel bad when you do.

There will be times where he will get anxious and want something done right away, and there is nothing wrong with gently telling him to wait. Don’t think of it as a problematic characteristic, it’s endearing that he wears his emotions on his sleeve.

His love for you is so strong and blinding, it may feel overbearing at times, but it is the greatest gift in the world. It’s your job to remind him of the others in his life that he loves, like his sister and the city he fights for. It’s not that he doesn’t love them, but his love for you is just that overwhelming.

He’ll tell you about the past and his mistakes, and you have to listen, be there for him, and let him know you’re not judging him. Never make him doubt himself and remind him who he is at his core: a good person, your words mean more to him than you could ever imagine.

His love for you is so great that he will go to lengths to make sure you are safe, even something he will regret. Try your best to stop him from doing something he will regret, if you can, and, if you don’t get to him in time, this is when he will need you most. It will be your job to be his anchor, his reason, and his home that he can come running to. Remind him he is human, guide him to forgive himself, and tell him you still love him and that he is not a monster.

He has bigger dreams than he is confident enough to believe in, so it’s your job to tell him every day how wonderful he is, how smart he is, and that he is capable of it all. He won’t believe you, but don’t stop saying it. There may come a time that you think he is gone, maybe forever, but know that he’s never gone, he always comes back.

When he falls in love with you, you’ll notice you sleep better at night, that his touch is like rain to your skin, and the way his eyes meet your’s melts your sorrows. You are dating the man of our dreams. All I ask is that you don’t hurt him the way he hurt me.

With so much happening, will these two star-crossed lovers ever get to be? *** Side notes: This story takes place the night before Laurel’s return in S5 and is a fix-it-fic from that point onwards (along with some creative decisions [“I recognize the council has made a decision, but given it’s a stupid a** decision, I’ve elected to ignore it.”] ). Also, there will be a playlist for the chapters you read (essentially the songs I listened to when I was writing it lol).

Chapter Title: 02 Just When I Needed You Chapter Summary: Desperately, Oliver goes to The Foundry to have a piece of Laurel near him, and is thrown into shock at what he finds - better yet, who he finds. Right after, Oliver receives a phone call from his brother-in-arms, John Diggle, and they both discover some shocking secrets that will change all of their lives as they know it. How will the group handle all these twists and shocks?

*This chapter takes place after the scene in "Arrow" S5.09, when we see Felicity mourning the loss of Billy in her place.
