W.I.P. #2

Dearest Gentle Reader,

Today I am back with some updates about this week's progress for the BEAUTY collection! After focusing on bigger items such as the vanity, it was time for some clutter 👀 I wanted to create some trendy items as well as some luxury pieces.

The first item I decided to recreate is the LV toiletry bag. I have been wanting it in game for so long and I think it was finally time to create it. It includes several swatches, some more 'classic' ones and some with the new engraved look. I also added a cute little detail and it looks like the zipper creates a little bow! 🥰 After creating it and spending several days on it I realized that I didn't want to have the LV logo on the texture and I forgot to remove it lol, I think in future items I will delete it to make it even more maxis-match...

Then it was time for the iconic Rhode Lip Case which I am simply so proud of. It comes with some beautiful pastel colors I am sure you will enjoy. I also created a Prada perfume and some Ordinary products that I use in my daily life so you can get to know me better 🥰

Finally, I decided to challenge myself! When I first started to create CC I told myself I never would have created plants because it was simply too complex and I thought I didn't have the skill for it. After giving it some thought, I decided that I did not want to live in fear of cute flowers and decided to give it a go! A few headaches later we finally have a cute lilies plant!

The next step is... I have no idea lmaoo! I don't know if I want more clutter or do some decor (painting, rug, wallpaper etc) or if I want to create a full on wardrobe (I have some ideas for a future one, which will look very much chateau-y, which doesn't really fit with this vibe...), so I guess we will all find out what I do next week!

Hello, hello!

I’m back with some more behind-the-scenes content!

I know I’ve been suspiciously quiet these past few weeks, but hear me out, I had a very good reason and I think you’re going to like it 👀

Over the last few weeks, I’ve been working on my next set and this time we’re taking a little break from the Nancy Collection to kick off summer with a bang!

What makes this project even more exciting is that I’m collaborating with a creator I’ve admired for years. Honestly, it still feels a little surreal and I want to thank all of you for your support because none of this would have been possible without you. ❤️

That being said... I’m going to keep the identity of my partner-in-crime a secret for just a little while longer. Can you guess who it is? 👀 We haven’t exactly been subtle and if you pay close attention, you might spot a few WIPs that look suspiciously familiar. 😏

Now, let’s get down to business!

For this summer set, we’re heading to Greece, more specifically, Mykonos and Santorini! Think crystal-blue waters, whitewashed stone, sun-soaked terraces and endless shades of blue.

For some reason, whenever I think of Greece, I think of two things: relaxation and unforgettable parties. So naturally, we decided to combine both.

One of the first pieces I tackled was the DJ booth. The in-game version desperately needed a makeover and after spending way too many hours in Blender and the warehouse, I finally figured out a way to make it fully modular and customizable.

The booth is divided into three parts: the controller, the stand and the façade. The stand and façade come in both stone and wood finishes, allowing you to mix and match them however you like. But the real star of the show is the controller.

Drum roll, please... 🥁

You can place it almost anywhere!

Put it on the custom stand, on counters or even on high tables. As long as you create an L-shaped setup, it remains fully functional and your DJ will keep the party going all night long. I’m also ridiculously proud of the metal finishes on this set, so please appreciate the countless hours I spent drawing all those details by hand. 😂

To complete the DJ area, I created a large backdrop featuring a glowing circular centerpiece that stays on day and night. It can be paired with matching stereos on either side to create the ultimate audio setup.

The backdrop is surprisingly versatile, too: it can even be used behind beds as a custom headboard. (You may or may not see that in an upcoming build... 👀)

Finally, I created a collection of matching counters inspired by the same organic shapes found throughout the set, along with two sinks, one of which is a slimmer design perfect for bar areas, just like you’d find in real-life venues. (this is a big hint hihi 😉)

And trust me... this is only the beginning!

There are still plenty of exciting pieces left to reveal, so keep an eye out for future WIPs and, of course, the official release of the set!

W.I.P. #4 - Nancy

Hello helloo! I’m back with some updates on the Nancy set!

This week was a bit slower and came with a few struggles, both personal and CC-wise, so I was only able to create three items. I finally tackled the piece I was most intimidated by: the stairs aaaghh! I quickly realized they weren’t necessarily complicated, just a bit tricky. The texturing and UV mapping were definitely the hardest parts, but I think I managed to get some pretty solid results.

There are three swatch variations in total: wood with blue marble, wood with red/brown marble and full wood, so you can use these stairs in almost any build. I also made them compatible with the newest stairs update, so they should stretch correctly. For those of you interested in the more technical side, I included a few extra images: one shows the vertex paint needed to create the steps. The black and red areas represent the parts that never move and always stay as the edge of the stair, while the gradient from green to yellow indicates the sections that stretch or repeat when you make the stairs larger, pretty cool, right? The other image shows my first attempt at creating highlights through texture painting in Blender instead of doing them by hand. It worked surprisingly well, I just had to export it with a an alpha layer!

Next up was a handrail! I don’t think I’ve seen anyone do this before, so I wanted to create one that could be placed on any wall to elevate the look of a stairway. Of course, I underestimated how many variations would be needed and ended up having a bit of a breakdown halfway through 😅 I thought it would be easy, but then realized I needed different angles, stackable pieces, mirrored versions for opposite walls and additional parts for landings. It honestly felt like a never-ending task but it’s finally done! There are both metal and wood swatches. It’s not perfect, but the stacking works nicely for each half tile.

Finally, after those complex and brain-draining objects, I needed a creative break, so I made a few coffee table books! In the images, I included some of my favorite swatches. The model itself is quite simple with low poly count, but the fun part was searching for beautiful artwork and designing all the covers from scratch. I felt like an editor-in-chief for a moment and although it took a ton of time, I’m really proud of how they turned out!

W.I.P. #6

Hello helloo! I know you’ve been waiting for this!! 👀 Let’s talk a little about the next steps for the Nancy collection!

If you’ve been following this adventure and reading all of my posts (thank you!!), you probably remember that last month’s set was supposed to be all about windows and doors. Unfortunately, I completely underestimated how difficult they would be to make and ended up changing the theme entirely. So it only felt right that this month I finally tackled some windows!!

I especially wanted to create something that looked like this:

I can proudly say that I managed to create full angled windows that fit perfectly right under the roof! They come in many different shapes and sizes so they can adapt to pretty much any length. To top it all off, I also made one and two tile full height windows and I worked really hard to make sure they let in as much light as possible. I can’t wait for you to try them out!! They’re perfect to pair with the angled windows for gorgeous double height rooms, but they also work beautifully on their own.

After that, I decided to have some fun and create handmade roof textures! I’m honestly so happy with how they turned out because I really dislike most Sims 4 roofs and now I can finally say I have one I truly love in game!! It comes in lots of shades, both neutral and colorful, so it’s super versatile. My personal favorite is the blue-ish one shown in the pictures above!

Then I went looking for even more roof inspiration on Pinterest and stumbled across this picture:

I absolutely fell in love with it and immediately knew I needed it in my game ASAP! So I got to work and created a modular system that lets you build a really cute porch setup. The main item is a porch awning about 4 tiles wide that you can place above your main entrance door. I even made sure to include a picture showing the bottom details because I know nobody will ever look at it from that angle and I refuse to let my hard work go unnoticed lmaooo.

This item also comes in 2 standalone versions: the wooden structure and the roof itself. That way, you can fully customize it with as many color combinations as you want! All of the pieces are also easy to place underneath any Sims 4 roof, so even if you don’t use my roof swatches but still want a porch, you can simply create a small roof, extrude one side, and place the wooden structure underneath it. It gives the exact same effect as the original version I made!

Obviously, the porch can’t just float in the air, so I also recreated the cute columns from the inspiration picture. They come in all 3 wall heights! Right now they’re standalone items, but I’m still deciding whether I want to turn them into proper functional columns because that’s an extremely long and difficult process.

I still have to see where this set takes me, but you can definitely expect more windows, hopefully a door or two and lots of cute decorations!

W.I.P. #9 - so many new items 😭

Hello, hello!

I’m back with more updates on the not-so-secret July collection! So many of you guys already guessed who I am collabing with and I am so proud of you!

Since the last time we talked, I’ve been on such a roll, making item after item, and I’m so happy with how this collection is coming along. We are currently at 34 items already 😮‍💨 (Plus all of the secret collaborator items too… hihihi)

Last week, I focused more on party items and the DJ/dance area, but this week I really wanted to create a lounge and seating area to go alongside it!

The first item I made is a fully customizable pergola. As you can see in the video, you can place every single top piece, curtain and post individually and change the colour of each part separately too! To make everything easier, I added slots so all of the pieces snap into place. And if you ever want to move it, you can simply grab the pergola and all of the attached pieces will move with it. I know my builders out there are going to appreciate that!

I also made a very cute stone seating area, including both a sofa and a loveseat. They each come in a clean version as well as one with chipped details for a more weathered look. This was my first time ever sculpting in Blender and, although it is not perfect, I’m really proud of how it turned out! The set also includes its own coffee table and end table.

But the real star of the seating area is an item I have wanted in the game for years!!!

I have always wished we had a gas fire pit that could be used on any surface and guys… here it is! The little gas fire pit can be placed on any surface and on any coffee table. The animation comes from the City Living pack, so you will need that pack for it to show up, but I am so proud of this item and really hope I get to see everyone using it! I included a little video so you can see the animation and how beautiful it looks. It comes in both metal and stone swatches and it also lights up the surrounding area at night when it is turned on!

Finally, last night I saw this picture and went a little crazy:

I absolutely loved the outdoor fireplace, and after seeing a few other images with taller versions too, I immediately got to work. By the end of today, I had made the shorter version of the fireplace, plus short-wall and medium-wall variants!

You can use it indoors as well and it looks just as gorgeous. My proudest little detail has to be the spheres in the center where the fire burns. I have seen them in so many celebrity homes and knew my Sims needed them too! I also made a small fire screen that snaps onto the fireplace in case you want a little extra safety for your Sims! I did not include a video of the animation this time, but you can imagine how beautiful it looks once the fire is on!

Next up this week will probably be a few lighting features and I would also love to tackle some walls and flooring. What do you think I should add next?

P.S. I saw your comments about the dance floor and even though I have not shown it yet… it is there!!

W.I.P. #7

Hello helloo! I’m back with some more behind-the-scenes content! ✨

As the end of the month gets closer, I’m putting the final touches on Nancy Part 3 and I’ve made a lot of progress since the last update! We are officially at 42 objects already!!

One of the biggest additions has been the windows. I added 9 new variations so you’re no longer limited to the full-length versions. There are now 1-tile and 1.5-tile options, plus a much shorter version for anyone who (unlike me 😭) actually uses short walls! Each set of 3 comes in different styles too: a full grid version, a 4-rectangle version and a top/bottom decorated version. Honestly, while modeling them I couldn’t decide which design I liked best… so I just added them all to the game. The more the merrier! 🥰

I also finally worked on something I’ve wanted for a really long time: an outdoor wall sconce! I never fully loved the existing options or their swatches, so I created my own version. It comes in all of my signature metal colors and I included a little process photo showing the before-and-after of hand-painting the details. Metals are honestly one of the hardest things to get right, but I think I’ve finally found my signature style for them and I’m really happy with how they turned out! I also tweaked the lighting to make it feel soft, warm and cozy.

And finally… I forced myself to tackle the thing I dreaded most: doors 💀

I’m happy to report it was nowhere near as difficult as I made it out to be LOL. Turns out I was massively overcomplicating things with vertex groups and cuts. Once I finally understood the process, I was able to create a full-height door for all three wall heights and it blends seamlessly with the full-length windows from the set. If you’re like me and hate breaking up a beautiful window wall with a random door, this one’s for you!

I’ve also started working on a front entrance door and I’m hoping everything continues to go smoothly 🤞 I just need to sort out the vertex groups one more time (basically telling the game which parts move and which stay still) and then I can finally focus on making it pretty. I also created planters for every window size… and even shutters!

For now, I’m heading back to finishing up the last few items and if all goes well I’ll see you in the first week of June for the official release!

W.I.P #1

Dearest Gentle Reader,

You didn't think I was gonna post my first set and disappear, right?

Today I am starting to share some pictures of the next set I'm working on, I will probably try to do this weekly up until the release date.

The original idea was very much baddie/mid-century modern, but as time progressed I added a LOT of different textures, such as the flower/chinoiserie ones, that honestly make it a lot more versatile. In the pictures above I am showing you a few of my favorite swatches.

So as of right now we have:

A vanity (functional, will require vintage glamour)

A chair

A cushion

You are probably gonna be happy to hear that the vanity has about 30 slots in the little cavity so you will be able to place all sort of clutter inside it!!

As of right now my main struggle is creating textures and make them look as maxis match as possible, especially when i find beautiful images on the web, but I think I did a pretty nice job this time, I hope you like them :-)

The cushion also gave me a headache, but I finally learned (and became bestie with) proportional editing, which means more quality in my future content!! I am also struggling with my game as of right now. it seems like lighting isn't working properly and everything appears extra dark, hopefully I'll be able to fix it instead of adding 15 wall-lights in one room lmaoo

The next step will probably be creating some clutter (I am working on a prada perfume, obv in simlish! and some designer makeup bags...) and after that I would like your help on deciding which items you would like to see in this set (rug? wallpaper? painting?), so please feel free to share your creativity in the comments 🫶

W.I.P. #10 - New obstacles

Hello, hello!!

Nancy Part 4 is officially in the works and I couldn't be happier to finally share some WIPs with you! Today I wanted to talk a little about the collection, show you what I've been working on and also share a few concerns I've been having along the way.

This time around, Nancy Part 4 is all about the living room. My goal is to create pieces that capture a timeless, cozy aesthetic you always see in Nancy Meyers movies.

While browsing Pinterest for inspiration, one particular image kept showing up over and over again: the most gorgeous lamp I've ever seen. I eventually gave in and decided we absolutely needed it in The Sims! It's the lamp you can see in the top-left corner of the image: a beautiful table lamp with a hand-painted chinoiserie vase as its base.

This piece is actually very special to me because it reminds me of my childhood home. My mom owns a stunning hand-painted blue-and-white chinoiserie vase and ever since I was about ten years old I've been joking that it's already mine once she decides to pass it down. It's become a running joke in my family, so when I go back home I'll try to take a picture of it and share it on Instagram. But don't get any ideas... nobody is stealing that vase from me. 😂

The lamp itself will include around five or six chinoiserie swatches, along with plenty of solid-color versions so it'll fit into all kinds of interiors. I also already made a standalone vase version!

Funny enough, this is the first collection where I started with the clutter instead of the main furniture and I honestly feel like I've been all over the place because of it. I also asked the wonderful SwanetteSims if I could use some of her beautiful Sim photography to create decorative picture frames for side tables and she kindly said yes!

The frame will probably come in both horizontal and vertical versions. I'm still deciding whether both should use the same photos or if I'd like to create an entirely new set, since making these little pictures is surprisingly one of the most time-consuming parts of the process. I included a few examples for you today and I really hope you like them! The overall theme is family life, seaside landscapes, flowers and, of course, pets.

Now... let's talk about the sofa.

For the past few days I've been battling with a design that simply refuses to look the way I imagine it in my head and I won't lie it has been hitting my motivation pretty hard.

I found this incredibly soft, comfortable-looking sofa on Pinterest and immediately knew it was perfect for the collection. But every time I recreate it in Blender, it ends up looking stiff and strangely similar to one of the base game sofas... which is exactly what's driving me crazy.

I'd genuinely love your opinion on this one. Do you like how it's turning out? Should I keep refining it, or do you think I should scrap it and go for a completely different design? I'd love to hear what you think!

As a little side quest, one of my dear friends also asked me to create some travel-themed CC for her and I've been slowly working on that as well. The idea is a small luggage collection that's perfect for traveling Sims or even airline-themed builds.

So far I've finished the suitcase and, surprise, surprise, I'm currently fighting with a large travel bag that's once again refusing to look soft enough. Apparently "making things look cozy" is becoming my greatest enemy this month. 😂

This mini collection will also be released publicly and I'm hoping to share it sometime in early August.

Unfortunately, between the Nixta collection releasing a little later than expected and me going on vacation this month, my schedule is much tighter than I had planned. Because of that, Nancy Part 4 may take a little longer than I originally hoped. That said, I'd much rather release a slightly smaller collection that's polished and high quality than rush out something bigger that I'm not completely happy with.

Outside of CC, I've also been thinking a lot about my branding as Lukheya.

As much as I've loved the off-white aesthetic over the past few months, it's slowly starting to feel a little lifeless to me. I've been experimenting with all sorts of colors and styles, but nothing has really clicked yet. I'm even considering reaching out to a graphic designer for some help, I just have absolutely no idea where to find someone I can trust with such an important project!

Today's WIP post was also a little experiment. I really like the new mosaic layout, but because I'm still unsure about the branding and colors, everything still feels a bit... soulless. Hopefully that's something I'll be able to improve over the coming months.

Either way, I want to thank you all so, so much for the incredible support you've shown both me and Valia on the Nixta collection. Seeing your excitement and all of your beautiful builds honestly makes all the hard work worth it, and I couldn't be more grateful. 🥰❤️

Now it's time for me to head back into Blender and continue my ongoing battle with that sofa.
