Short History of Reiki: Reiki is a Japanese technique developed in 1922 by Japanese Buddhist Mikao Usui for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes mental & physical healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen " (Chi) Qi" or "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. As Mikao Usui researched to develop his own unique form of "hands on healing' he studied the healing practices of Buddha & Jesus. He studied for many years at the Zen Monastery, Sankrit's & Sutras and learned the technical knowledge to practice healing but felt he needs (a "key") a way to activate the healing energy.
