Drawing characters as personas from Persona for a personal project ₍^. .^₎⟆
Gonna try and keep this one short. I’ve been stuck in a slump lately regarding my Persona: Legacy project, so I decided to relax and draw a bunch of random characters as personas that will probably show up in that story! Though I can’t say the designs are particularly well thought out since they’re mostly REALLY ROUGH drafts (and I definitely haven’t mastered the art of what makes a persona design ;-;), it would be seriously cool if I could get people’s thoughts on how to improve them! Compared to my school assignment illustrations that have been sitting in my computer for a while, I just finished filling up this page a few days ago and couldn’t wait to show it off >⩊< Anyway, here are my individual notes for these designs:
[WANDERER] Call me arrogant, but I think I really cooked with this one. The cracked, porcelain doll skin, the heart-shaped hole in his chest (that will have mini versions of the Kabukimono and Balladeer inside), the bird motifs, and the halo turned into one of those marionette crosses—the only thing I wish I could have incorporated into the design were feline features to reference how even people in the world of Genshin compare Wanwan to a cat, but I couldn’t figure out how to make them look right (╥‸╥) Anyways, my final notes for this were that I was stuck between making him of the Tower Arcana or the Death Arcana but, in the end, went with the Tower instead.
[LOKI] This one blows, no doubt about it. It’s literally just Loki tied to his tree with the frost giant markings on his face. Not sure how to fix him… (Been considering making him of the Fortune Arcana or the World Arcana... but dunno...)
[LUCI] Mans has the same blessing as Bayonetta has, where his design is already so fantastical looking, I don’t have to change it to make him look like a persona, tho I did have the idea of making his skin paper white and cracked, giving him a few bat wings of his own, and making his eyes cry blood. I also tried to give him his veil, but it ended up looking like trash ._. Was originally gonna make him of the Moon arcana until my Lunarist friend told me that the Tower would fit him better.
[CASS] Same blessing as Luci and Bayonetta, except things still turned out horribly in the process of making him look like a persona. Didn’t know whether to merge him with water or the tree of life from his backstory, so I tried both, but as you can probably tell in Loki’s design, it ended up not looking great x-x
[SOFIA] Had an incredible idea for her design but failed in executing it in real life. In this design, Sofia is chained and locked away with her hands drenched in red liquid, and blooming from her back are butterfly wings that depict her alters. She probably would have been better off as some kind of navigation persona.
[TRAILBLAZER] The persona (probably) assigned to Persona: Legacy’s protag. Originally I was gonna make their head a stellaron, but since the stellaron is firmly shown to be located in their chest, I put it there instead with ribbons of light emanating from it (if that makes sense). I tried to make them resemble both Stelle and Caelus, gave them golden tears, and a body that looked like some sort of empty shell, but I had no other ideas for Trailblazer beyond that x-x
[GLASSICAL] This was when I started running out of space, ideas, and motivation to work on these. Had the idea of making Glassical a navigation persona who can divinate the most probable future ahead (hence the eyes everywhere). For some reason, I drew him as a sort of legless specter with big claws and ghost-like hair? Dunno why, lol.
[KOROSENSEI] That’s literally just Korosensei, I don’t know what else to say (; ▽ ;) though I did have the original idea of making the persona look like Korosensei’s original form, wearing the appearance of his octopus-looking form, but I don’t think I pulled it off well (ㅠ﹏ㅠ) (In retrospect, he would have also been a fitting Magician…)
And yeah, that’s the tea lol. Maybe in the future, I’ll draw more rough drafts of characters as personas, and maybe some other day as well once I’ve gathered enough research and feedback, I’ll revamp the designs on this page (˶ ´ ∇ ˋ ˶)
