Pulptober 26th - Masked Hero - Luther Strode

The Strange Talent of Luther Strode is a delightfully weird little comic series that answers the question 'what if those Charles Atlas workout programs you could mail-order from old comic books did actually work but were also written by a cult of homicidal lunatics?'

Early in the series Luther is given the cobbled-together mask you see in the art by a close friend, and I can't go into much more of that relationship without some serious spoilers so suffice to say it takes on an importance well above just being a way to hide his identity when he starts his vigilante career.

The first book in the comic series is probably the best one. Things get exponentially more insane as the sequels hit but Strange Talent is quite a grounded story about what might actually happen to someone who abruptly gains extraordinary physical prowess. It's definitely worth a read. All art by Tradd Moore here.
