Lutta's eyes are green-tinted because there's a passage in To Be a King where Hoole sees her next to the ember and notes that they seem to be made from the same stuff.

There was something strange about this owl. Her intensity almost unnerved him, yet she was fascinating. She stirred in him something vaguely familiar. A confusion of feelings. It suddenly dawned on Hoole. She’s not unlike the ember.

Hot take maybe but I feel like, in a Lutta Lives AU, her ending up with Hoole almost affirms the “I am nothing” in her “I am nothing, and yet I loved” quote? Like her getting with Hoole doesn’t solve her issues of identity and self worth; if she only loves him without knowing herself, that love only fills the void that was left by her parents and Kreeth. Let my girl discover who she is. Let her be free
