That’s not who he is. If he needs or wants something he’ll do it or get it himself.
He never had to beg to do the things he does so why would he start now?
That is until you came along. He didn’t even notice it at first either.
It started with
“Sweetheart, please turn on your location fa’me when you go out, gotta know you’re safe.”
Then
“This shit goes south, promise me doll, you find Matt and stay with him till this all over. Please doll.”
The look in his eyes as he holds you in front of him are unsteady, darting all over your face looking for confirmation. Eyes glossed over as he already fears the worst before anything has happened yet.
And next
“Spread em fa’me pretty girl.” He cooed between your legs as he kneels on the ground before you.
Mouth hungry and hands wondering up your legs as he looks up at you like you’re the one thing that can save him. Like it’s gonna make the ache in his knees go away or make the bruises on his face stop throbbing. He knows it won’t but why not try anyways?
Frank Castle who unlocks the front door and holds it open for you as soon as you guys get home. He's immediately making sure to lock the door once you both are in, just to be safe.
Frank Castle who helps you out of your coat before he takes off his.
Frank Castle who plops down next to you on the bench and does not hesitate to lift up your ankle towards him.
Frank Castle who undoes the clasp of your heels for you because he knows it frustrates you to undo sometimes.
Frank Castle who scoffs when you say you can do it yourself. He knows you can but he just wants to do it for you.
Frank Castle who takes your heel off gently before leaving a soft kiss at the ankle and patting your thigh for the other one.
Frank Castle who does the same to the other foot while you watch with cheeks tinted red at how soft his actions are.
Frank Castle who tries not to smile as you kiss his cheek as a thank you.
Frank Castle who then takes off his own boots after he got you settled.
Frank Castle who makes sure both of your shoes are next to one another and touching to remind himself he has someone waiting for him at home.
Frank Castle who loves when you wear your Mary Jane heels so he can do little rituals like this with you and feel that domestic life you are able to give him again.

A/n: I love those edits where people edit snoopy with their favorite characters but I can’t find none of Frank so have to make my own.
Snoopy
Frank didn't think he was anything special, yea he looked handsome according to you but whenever he looked in the mirror, he saw something different. He saw a tired rugged man who wore loss and death on him. A nose broken so many times he lost count with scars that littered his body. To him you were the opposite, pretty and soft with eyes that saw the beauty in things people wouldn't even give a second glance. He had no idea what you saw in him or what he did to deserve you but he learned to bask in what warmth you gave him and accept that you wanted to be here with him. He'd do anything for you, even be your muse.
It wasn't a secret to him that one of your hobbies was photography. The handheld canon camera was always somewhere close, in your bag, on the kitchen table or in your hand. It wasn't hard to miss either, it was decorated with cute stickers and charms that clinked together whenever it moved. That's when he'd always know you were taking it out, just from the clink. The pictures would vary from flowers and nature to random objects like a old candy wrapper that "Just looks oddly aesthetic." Whatever it is, you'd always beam up at him while you showed him and ranting about the lighting or angle and every time his heart always swelled with pride.
Frank himself though would never really take photos, the only photos he had was the worn down photo of Maria and the kids that sat on the nightstand every night, watching over him and bringing him comfort after hard nights. He also had photos of you, his favorite in particular was a Polaroid that is always tucked in his wallet. His lack of photos made him appreciate your photography, it allowed him to look back and see the memories you both made together.
One afternoon in particular, you were sat on the rug and surrounded by freshly printed photos. A overly packed and decorated photo album laid out in front of you.
"Doll, I think it's time for a new photo album." Frank said from the couch as he watched you struggle to find a place to put the photograph. The mug filled with coffee now forgotten on the table in front of him.
"No, watch and learn Castle." With determination in your voice, you spent the next few minutes adjusting and putting in the photos. He watched as you miraculously managed to fit it all in like it was no trouble at all.
"Well color me impressed." You smiled and got up, gathering your supplies and placing them on the table.
"Maybe don't doubt me next time. Now after all that work I am starving, gonna make some grilled cheese, you want some?" Frank shook his head while lifting his coffee before taking a sip as if saying that was his food.
"That's not lunch."
"Says who?"
"Pft, I'll make an extra in case you want some real food." And with that you left for the kitchen. Frank sat back with his coffee, listening to you move about in the kitchen. His gaze wondered, landing on the photo album. Couldn't hurt to take a peak. In one swift motion he put down his coffee and picked up the book. As he turned the pages he'd seen the memories you carry. Some with you and your friends, some from the park or ones with you and him. The one of that crow, you once tried to befriend but failed as it never came back. The one of Curtis barbecue, with him and Curtis standing by the grill with beers in hand laughing about who knows what. The one where Karen took a photo of you guys, you watching the snowfall while Frank watched with a soft smile. God, he was a sap.
He paused when he turned to the next page, something was off. In one of the picture of him, where he had his one hand in his coat and a bouquet of flowers in the other hand. It was one of the first few times he had bought you flowers, he remembered it clearly. What he didn't remember was the small white blob on his shoulders. Looking closer it seemed to be a dog holding flowers. Where the hell did that come from? Now that he's looking more closer he sees this isn't the only photo with the little dog edited next to him.
"Sweetheart?" His eyes never left the photo, squinting at it.
"Yes Frankie?", you yelled back from the kitchen. A few seconds later you walked in standing behind the couch looking over Frank's shoulder.
"What is this?" He pointed at the blob and raised his brow.
"Snoopy."
"What?"
"Oh don't tell me you don't know snoopy, I know your old but didn't know you were that old." You laughed.
Frank scoffed at that, "real funny sweetheart but Why is 'snoopy' there?"
"Oh I just photo shopped him there." You said simply.
"Why?"
"Because it's just cute."
Just cause it's cute?
"Cute?" Frank still didn't get it.
"Mhmm just like you. Literally you guys are on the same wavelength." The odd explanation didn't really explain much but to Frank it explained enough. Doing random things like this because you thought it was cute, honestly he couldn't complain. If it put a smile on your face, he would let you photo shop snoopy on his photos anytime. He closed the photo album letting it fall to his side on the cushion,
"C'mere", he opened his arms for you and you shuffled close enough for him to pull you into his lap. He planted his lips on your neck, giving soft kisses. The touch immediately making your cheeks bloom with heat.
"Did'ja think I'd forget that comment from earlier?" He said in between kisses
"Frankkkk wait." You whined trying squirm out of his grip.
"Nah uh not getting away this time."
"But the grilled cheese is burning!"

Chop

Chop
Grunt
The echoing of sounds stirred you from your slumber. Limbs heavy and held down by the thick comforter draped over you. The pillows molding around your head like clouds.
Your head peaked out from under the cocoon of blankets, seeing the small cabin room lit up by the blue morning light spilling through the curtains. The snow making the light reflect more brighter.
As you shifted more from out of the blankets, the cool morning air immediately hit your face causing you to duck back under but not completely.
The lack of warmth next to you already tells you Frank is out of bed.
Chop
Grunt
He does know he doesn’t have to chop wood this early right?
As you sat there debating whether or not it was worth it to get up, a pitter patter sound got closer till you felt a nudge at your side.
Looking over you saw Max, the all gray pitbull Frank brought home one day. When he first arrived at your door step, ribs bulging out of his sides and limping around, your heart broke. How could anyone looking into the little baby’s eyes and not help him?
At first Frank said the dog would stay until he recovered and was able to find him another home but that plan fell apart immediately as the night after you saw him asleep on the couch with the pitbull curled up next to him.
Besides, not like he could take away something that made you smile from ear to ear.
Max’s puppy eyes stared up at you almost reminding you of Frank’s puppy eyes that he claims he does not have.
Sitting up more now, you ran your hand through his soft short fur.
“Did daddy leave you inside? So mean he didn’t bring you out with him.”
In return Max just whined, which meant he wanted to go out. Sighing at the thought of leaving your comfy bed, you pushed through it and let your feet hit the chilly floor.
How was it so cold in here?
Quickly, you shuffled past the extinguished fireplace to your slippers with your cozy blanket wrapped around you, letting it drag behind you. You arrived at the front door in nothing but Frank’s old shirt as pajamas.
Through the window next to the door you could see the white filled forest as the after math of the recent snow storm. In the middle of it you can see Franks figure.
His back faced you as he was a few feet away cutting up some wood. His plaid button up hanging from the tree beside him.
You could see the back of his head and the overgrown hair that curled at his neck, that you begged him not to cut along with his beard for the simple reason of 'you look so hot like that'.
From this view it allowed you to see all his muscles in its glory. Your eyes followed as the curve of his muscles and the old scars that ran along as it moved, the Contracting and stretching as he swung the axe up and down with a grunt, splitting the wood in two just like it was that easy.
The simple act went straight to your core, thinking of what else he could split open and making you bite your lip.
“I am gonna jump his bones.”
A scratching sound brought you back to reality as you realized Max was waiting.
“Oh sorry Maxy.” Once the door opened Max ran out into the snow and you followed up till the edge of the porch.
At the same time Frank was taking a breather. Arm over his forehead, rubbing of the sweat that built up and the other hand leaning the axe on the wood stump near him.
Max ran up to him causing Frank to bend down and squishes max face in a rough but playful way.
“Thought you s’pose to be watchin’ mama huh?”
He turns towards your direction seeing your sleepy disheveled form and how you came out in nothing but his shirt and a blanket wrapped around you.
“Looks like mama watchin’ me.” He stood back up as Max trotted away to do his business.
“You're gonna freeze in just that tank top.”
“Someone’s gotta cut wood to make sure you don’t freeze in there”
You let out a huff, “Well you’re failing already, I’m cold.”
The snow crunched under his feet as he came stalking to you slowly.
Not wanting to get your slippers wet by the snow, you opted to wait on the porch for him to come closer.
Once he was at the bottom step of the porch, his arms reaching to wrap around your waist. “Can’t have that can we?”
You wrapped your arms around his neck as he lifted and held you chest to chest with him. “No we can’t”
Faces inching closer until he felt your breath on his lips, you could smell the coffee still lingering. His voice in a low husk, “how bout I warm you up, huh?”
To which you mindlessly nodded at as you stared into his eyes, legs now wrapped around his torso.
“Saw how you was lookin’ at me.” He leaned in giving you a slow kiss. His grip on you tighten as well as his pants.
Each second the kiss grew more eager, like pulling away wasn't an option but merging together was. Fingers running through his soft hair and his beard scratching at your chin. These are the mornings you look forward to. No loud traffic of the city, no worries of danger at the corner, no more waking wondering if Frank made it home to you.
The moment was interrupted by a twack to Franks leg. Pulling away and looking down, Frank saw Max wagging his tail with a big stick in his mouth, the one he assaulted him with moments ago.
A giggle left your mouth at Max innocent face compared to Frank's in disbelief. Slowly he set you down and readjusted the blanket on your shoulders.
“Alright, Alright. Get inside and get warm. I’ll bring in the firewood and start the fireplace.” He placed a kiss on your forehead before turning you around, sending you back inside the cabin with a tap on the butt.
Once you were out of sight, and turned to Max. "Really bud?"
He knew he couldn't really be upset at the pup who just wants attention. He bent down to grab the stick with a smile. "I'll throw it for you a few times but after that we gotta bring in that wood so mama don't freeze yeah?"

You didn't tell me you knew Spider-man!" You scolded Frank. Arms crossed and brows pinched together in annoyance like he had just offended you. Which he had not, at least he didn't think so.
Frank didn't see the big deal. "Was I s'pose to tell you?" When you had shown up at his door (boat?), he had expected other questions like why the hell are you living on this thing? Where have you been? But had you really come to ask that?
"Yes! You know he's like my favorite hero." Which is true, looking back he had seen how much you admired the friendly neighborhood spider-man. Even having merch that you were proud to wear out. Honestly he was happy you looked up to someone who did good, someone who wasn't him.
"It's not like i'm friends with that web head, we're just working together this one time." He huffed moving to his coffee maker, ready for another cup.
"Hmm sounds like friends to me." You teased, watching as he moved about in his small kitchen, which he was definitely to big for. His dark plaid robe that clung to his form, and made him look oddly domestic. Has he really been living here like this for long?
He placed two cups on the counter. It was for you, always considering you, not needing to ask because he knew you like the back of his hand. "Ain't got no sugar or that fancy stuff you like." You rolled your eyes, of course he didn't. Thanking him, you took a sip. Bitter. How does he even drink this stuff?
After a minuet he spoke up again, "Is that why you came? Just to use me to get to him?"
"No, I also wanted to see my favorite vigilante." Which was the truth, it took you forever to even find him. You had checked many hiding spots before this one and almost felt anxious that maybe you weren't gonna find him again.
"Thought that was red? seems you got a thing for men in red suits anyways." He huffed and watched as you moved closer to him.
"No I like my men always brooding and scary to everyone. When really, he’s a softie who saves people even if the big skull on his chest and gun in his hand says otherwise." You stopped teasing and looked up at him with a soft smile. "But really I miss you Frank."
Oh.
His eyes lingering on you a beat before looking at the wall like it was it was talking to him instead. He was considering his words carefully, not wanting to admit something that would come back and bite him in the ass. He wanted you safe, even if that means keeping you at a distance.
"You shouldn't."
"But I do anyways."
The silence stayed after that. The tension lingered, slowly leaving like honey dripping out of a spilled jar. You didn't ask where he had been all these months; he didn't ask how you found him. Questions unanswered and saved for another day. Coffee now forgotten and wasted. Today you both would just exist in each others space, at least for a little bit.
"So…house tour?" You asked hesitantly, hoping for an excuse to stay longer.
"It's not anythin' grand." He looked at you like he was considering it but he knew he already made up his mind. He'd give you anything you asked for and that was dangerous.
You laughed, "Oh believe me I know, but I'm at least hoping for a bedroom that's not in the same room as the bathroom."
He turned already walking away and expecting you to follow. He tried to hide the way his lip twitched into a smile. "You got big expectations."
You followed happily, practically at his heels. Now more confidently you asked the thing he knew that was coming.
"So any chance you can introduce me to spider-man?"
Summery: When Stirling recruits a nurse to join the SAS, a certain soldier takes a liking to them but finds himself unable to deal with the feeling he gets when he sees the nurse and Stirling together.
Warning: Takes place in S1. Talk of death, war and grief. Paddy not good with feelings, little angst.
WC: 2.8k
A/n:The way I found sas rogue hero’s book at my local book off for only $5 and I’m trying so hard not to read it, until season 3 comes out at least. Also this is the longest fic I have made so far omg.Lowkey Not sure if I like the ending, might change it.
The SAS started off as a suicide mission and it still is, men going to die in a secret that HQ let happen. All soldiers that went, went voluntarily and knew the risk. Sent out without proper supplies, forced to steal and survive on what they had. No nurse or doctor there in case they were hurt, only options were staying alive or death.
When recruiting started, David knew no sane doctor or nurse would join which is why he thought of you, a smart nurse who was trained under his good friend. That was essentially how you even met David, when he was high off laughing gas with the doctor. Though at first you thought he was crazy, stupid even. How can a well respected man like that act like this in the middle of war? Over time though, you saw how he actually cared and was frustrated with the lack of progress they were making. You shared similar sentiment, which later led to your friendship.
When he first asked you to join the SAS, it was before the day they were supposed to drop down into the desert. You said no simply because of how dangerous it was and reminding him how the first time he jumped out the plane into the desert, he broke both of his legs. The day they brought him in, you didn't know whether to laugh at his stupidity or scold him for being reckless. It scared you enough to beg him not to go back, not wanting him to test his luck again and end up in a body bag. Being the way he was, he looked you in the eyes with a half smile, promising he would be back and left.
For weeks you waited, on the edge on your seat, the pit in your stayed until a beat up letter was handed to you one day. Having the letter in your hand, it felt fragile and like it would turn into sand at any moment if you even looked at it wrong. You felt relief as David said he had made it safely but soon felt your heart dropped at the rest. He told of how half didn't even make it on arrival. How the storm interfered, dragging men in any and all directions. Ending their lives before they even had a chance. Leaving around only 20 men to see the aftermath.
The next few letter after that, were at least less turmoil but still held the same feeling of looming dread. They had successfully sabotaged enemy forces and making a dent in the war. You can tell he was proud, and you'd be lying if you said you weren't proud too.
When the SAS had been giving leave, as a reward for their good work, most came to Cairo, including David. This is when he caught you up on all that happened and informed you of Jock's death. You knew they were close, though he didn't say it, you knew he blamed himself. This is what made you change your mind. The next few days you spent mauling over the idea of going and helping. They had no nurse or doctor, if you could go then maybe there would be less deaths. So before David had left you had told him you would join.
-
Skipping forward you made it safely to their make shift camp. At first it felt awkward, new place, new faces. But after months got to know the unit, the crew accepted you and treated you as one of their own. One man in particular was the first to accept you right off the bat. The mad man himself, Paddy Mayne. He was the only one to treat you as any other, acting as if you'd always been there and not afraid to say what he wanted. Unlike the others who kept their distance and were careful around you. You had heard stories about him before, getting into fights, telling higher ups off or escaping the military jail with nothing but his fist. He was crazy yet still a man of poetry but meeting him and getting to know him was something entirely different. You quickly learned he was a stubborn man. Whenever he got into fights, which was often, he had refused to let you take care of his injuries. It left you a little annoyed since the whole reason of you being there was to take care of their injuries. Whenever you complained to David he would cackle and tell you that's just how he was.
After one particularly bad fight, you had enough. Finally being fed up, you took your supplies and stormed into Paddy's tent. Though he tried to brush you off, you stood your ground and wouldn't relent until he finally gave up with a huff. The whole time you worked in silence unless he moved to much which you then sternly told him to sit still. It wasn't a major break through but it was a start. He still refused your treatment but would let you do your thing but not without some grumbling.
Slowly but surely a bond was born, it wasn't a big thing that screamed out to any and everyone but it was small, quiet and subtle and only noticed if you looked closely enough, and soon enough the camp noticed.
It was things like Paddy carrying boxes supplies to the medical tent for you, your tender touch whenever patching him up, Paddy having an extra cup of tea next to his that had your name invisibly written on it, your teasing and him not saying anything about it but if it was anyone else it would not be so pretty. Somehow someway you'd both be near one another, looking out for one another without even saying a word but through glances and looks that said too much but not enough at the same time.
Paddy never told you directly about Eoin but talked about a man in some of his poetry, it always sounded specific and personal. He'd always would say it with a vulnerable look in his eye and end up staring into the great nothing of the desert. One night the team was celebrating another successful mission the only way they know how. Getting drunk.
"Come on Paddy play us some!" Johnny yelled with his drink tilting so far forward the liquid sloshed and spilled onto a few men. The other hand gestured to the piano they stole when they first landed.
"Paddy knows how to play piano?" You whispered to Reggie as he sat back on a crate watching the drunken soldiers make fools of themselves. Reggie, who became one of your first friends at the camp. It seemed he was also close with Paddy, having knew him before coming here.
"Ha! barley, only half a fucking song." He laughed, taking another swig.
"Half a song?" You chuckled gazing at Paddy's form as took some poor soldier into a headlock and saying he'd only let him go when he thinks he had enough while ignoring Johnny's request and playfully threatening him to a headlock next.
"Yeah Eoin only managed to teach him some."
"Eoin?" You had never heard of him till now.
"Yeah him and Paddy were close."
"Were? What happened to him?"
"He died." That left you in silence
Oh.
It must've registered to Reggie what he just said as his eyes widen as he realized he babbled about his friend's personal business. "Shit- I've fucking said too much. Forget about this conversation right?"
You nodded at him with a smile, "Don't worry I'm sure I'll wake up with zero memory of our conversation and a terrible hangover."
From then it clicked together. The poems weren't about no one, they were about the person who meant the most to Paddy. The man he'd cross deserts to see again, Eoin was more than just a friend and that was evident about the way he chose to talk about him. You'd never tell him that you knew about Eoin but you'd hope he would want to tell you about him someday.
It was also around then that Paddy noticed how close you were with David, you guys were often joking with one another or placing bets. It was as if you'd known each other forever. David even brought you back little things from Cairo whenever he went. Paddy tried not to notice or try not to acknowledge how it made him feel. Because if he did, he would have to admit to himself something he couldn't handle to go through again.
And maybe, just maybe it reminded him of someone.
-
One blazing hot day, the men were either lounging about with one another or doing their own thing. Paddy was on a makeshift cot connected by two thin dried trees with a long soft fabric stretched above to give some kind of shade. A Yeats poetry book in his left while his right hand was under his his head as a makeshift pillow. You were next to him, leaning against one of the trees and covered by the shade. You were reading one of your own books, while Paddy's sunglasses were perched on top of your head. You had stolen the shades earlier that day from him, though he did not say anything about it.
"She was more beautiful than thy first love-"
"You know I can't read if you keep talking right?"
"This lady by ye tree: and gazed upon the mournful stars above." You groaned as he continued and ignored your protest, not even sparing you a glance with his eyes glued to his book.
Times like this, Paddy would purposely be annoying. It wasn't like annoying to a point of getting mad but it would be enough for him to get under your skin. Sighing, you decided to put in your bookmark and close your book, at least you had gotten through two chapters before he decided to speak.
A shout of your name in the distance got your attention. The voice belonged to David, you saw him in the distance as he waved you over. At this point you didn't even noticed Paddy stop speaking and look over as well.
"Well duty calls, I'm assuming it's time for inventory check." You said as you stood up and dusted the sand off your knees. All Paddy said in return was 'aye' as he watched you walk across the burning sand. He hadn't mean to stare so long even as you made it to David and followed him into the ruins of the rocks to the makeshift base. He wondered if there really was in inventory check or not. He also wondered why he cared so much about it.
A few feet away Paddy had not noticed that he was being watched by a few of the other men. There sat Reggie, Bill and Johnny gathered, watching the scene and how Paddy's eyes lingered on you.
"She really does have his goat, in a different way huh." Reggie mutters, as the others laughed.
"Yeah think it goes both ways too." Bill chimed in.
"So let's make a bet then. This cannot go on forever, someone is bound to break first." Johnny said with a grin.
"I don't know about that, could go on for a while." Bill chimed in.
"Just makes it more interesting then."
Unbeknownst to Paddy, a bet that would soon take over the camp was starting.
-
Later that day, you had found Paddy in the haul area, by himself at the piano repeating the same keys, the only ones he knew and never daring to go beyond that. You could've sworn his fingers were imprinted onto the keys by this point.
Not wanting to interrupt, instead you had leaned against one of the pillar with arms crossed and silently listened. You were sure he had replayed this same melody enough times to have perfected it to a T.
After hitting the last key, there was a brief pause as he stared at the piano with a heavy hand on the lid ready to close it. He felt the weight of someone sitting next to him, he didn't have to look over to know it was you. Putting your hands on the lid, you helped him close it.
"Do you think you'd ever want to learn the rest?", your soft voice hitting his ear.
"You offerin' to teach me?"
"Well I would if I knew how to play piano, but I can try." He looked over at you.
"How can ye help If ya don't know to play?"
"Well I used to play the flute, so I can read the notes. Can't be that different." The unreadable look he gave you made you pause.
"The flute?"
"Mhm" His eyebrows raised and his mouth slowly stretched into a smirk, that's when you knew you fucked up.
"Oh fuck off Paddy, it was when I was little okay?" You whined as he started laughing.
"Aye and ye little self couldn't picked anything else besides that?" You glared at him, to which he ignored.
"Oh laugh it up now but when you need help reading notes I will not be there to help." You huffed and his laughter died down. "Oh but you offered little bird, can't back out now."
Before you could respond someone else walked in, a loud voice was heard,"Ah there you are. Cooped up in here with Paddy eh?" As you both looked back to see David with his hands on his hips and a smile on his face.
Paddy turned back to the piano, he knew what David came for so he just ignored him, much to Stirling dislike. He had caught onto Paddy's indifference when it came to him and you interacting. He has a guess why but would not say it for now.
"Oh David, looking for me?" You asked, oblivious to the odd shift in Paddy's mood.
"Oh yes actually need your input for a little something ." He nodded before turning and starting to walk out.
You stood up and patted Paddy's shoulder and walked away before stopping and turning back. Paddy didn't look back but felt something being placed on his head. "Almost forgot." You said before leaving this time. His hand reached to the top of his head, grabbing the shades before bringing it down to look at it.
While looking at it, he saw his reflection through the dark lens. His expression even surprised himself, it was a subtle difference to his normal blank expression. Brows pinched together, eyes softer and a permanent frown upon his lips.
"Christ."
-
The sun was setting, the temperature dropping slowly and the smell of cooking meat in the air. It was dinner time, everyone was gathered at the tables. Nothing but the sound of men laughing or talking too loud and the clatter of dishes.
"This spot taken?" You asked Paddy, not really looking for an answer as you placed your food down before sitting between him and Jim. Paddy was leaned back, sipping his drink as he watched you take a seat. His expression unreadable.
He put his cup down with a clink,"thought you'd be sittin' next to Stirling."
Immediately across from you guys Reggie locked eyes with Jim, as they were both now listening in and paying attention to the conversation. The air had changed, Reggie kept a straight face but Jim looked a little nervous.
"Why would I do that? I always sit with you." You inquire with a raised brow.
"He's your friend."
"So are you."
"Am I?"
The look you gave him was shock and a bit of hurt. What?
At the same time, Jim choked on his drink. Reggie now staring at Paddy as if he lost his head.
"What the hell does that mean?"
He looked over at you with the face he gave to people he had no interest in, vastly different how he looked at you before. "Means yer should pick better friends if you think I'm one." With that he got up, taking his unfinished food and left.
"Paddy!" Reggie gave him a look.
Watching as his figure retreat back to his tent, you were left sat there wondering what it was all about, he had been fine with you just hours before. Had you done something? Was it about the glasses? Were you overstepping?
Looking over at Jim and Reggie only to see they were as confused as you were. "What was that all about?"
Jim shook his head, not knowing what to say. Reggie spoke up, "I don't think it had anything to do with you, whatever he's mad about is on him."
You nodded, trusting he was right but it didn't hurt any less. You kept replaying the day over, seeing if you missed something but came up with nothing.
The rest of the night Paddy spent away from you and even turned in early. Others assumed it was to get rest before the mission the next day but in reality rest was the last thing Paddy got the night.

A/n: Readers last name is Carbajal. Wrote this months ago. It was meant to be a series but we will see. Not proof read
Remmick always put himself in places where he did not belong, mostly just to cause trouble but how he managed to get himself involved into the mafia? We will never know. The early 1900's when everything new and life was settling in, for Remmick it was a new start after coming over on a boat to Italy, which he later fled from leaving behind a massacre. Long story short he met a few guys, turned a few guys, and that's how he ended up involved with the mafia.
How did a vampire be able to blend in and bump shoulders with these men? Easy, doing the dirty work at night. When he had learned of the Carbajal estate, it was presented as a country side with hundreds of grape bushes made to be turned into wine. Remmick saw through it easily for what it was though when he had crossed into the land he quickly learned of the business and what transpires, the protection, the feud, the killings. He had decided he was bored and this was just what he needed. He persuaded his way somehow through his act, gained trust and put into work. He had been assigned to night shift guarding the giant estate where the family along with others had lived. Worked out perfectly he came at night and basically got to eat any trespassers. Though they had not known what Remmick was or why he came to work at night but they did not bother to ask, not many willingly work at night.
Through his nightly visits he had always passed by the jewel of the family, The Don's daughter, always protected and kept away from any of the danger. Beautiful hair framing her face, a plush body Remmick would do anything to feel, soft and skilled hands always doing something whether it be sewing, panting, cooking or helping the locals. Remmick knew no one was allowed near her especially not him. That did not stop him from watching her in the night through the shadows. She'd come onto her balcony every night doing anything she pleased, whether it be stargazing, reading or sometimes gazing at the gardens.
But she was observant, "When are you gonna stop watching me and start talking to me?", she said to him one night and thus starting a nightly routine of Remmick visiting her climbing up the wall covered in vines to meet her on the balcony in her room.
Months later and she was under his charm, sneaking out with him doing any and everything with him. She had fallen in love and he enjoyed the thrill.
"How come I never seen you working in the day or to just even around the town?", you said as you were shuffling the cards of the deck. The warm light casting from the inside spilling onto the balcony where you and Remmick sit.
He hummed for a moment watching your hands. "Busy darlin' gotta sleep. Can't be taking watch all night protecting the Don's precious girl if I don't rest up in the day." He reached over grabbing her hands stopping her from shuffling the cards. You look up meeting his eyes. "Sure you aren't scared of my father seeing us?", smirking you lean closer.
Him scared? It was almost laughable. The last time he was scared was centuries ago. "Nah darlin', do I look like the type to be scared? If I was then I wouldn't risk my neck trying to see you each night." He had that type of confidence that made you fall for his words the first night you talked. The look that made your knees weak and allowed him in your bed.
Feeling your pulse speed up sounded beautiful to his ears. He'd had to stop himself on more than one occasion from biting into that pretty neck, didn't want to spoil the fun too soon. He leaned closer brushes his lips against your ear whispering, "Wouldn't be scared when I got you screaming my name like a prayer every night". He ran his hands up your arms leaving a burning sensation.
"Remmick", you whined feeling his nose nudge your neck. Turning your head to give him more space as he kissed up and down your neck gently. He took his time not rushing, like opening a gift he wants you to come undone by his hands. He had done this more than once and would not stop anytime soon. He would enjoy you and your presence for as long as he could.
As soon as you gasped by a pinch from his fingers, he pulled away. The first thing your eyes landed on was the drool dripping from his mouth. It was an odd thing he did whenever things got a little heated, but you thought it was cute. Thinking of it you giggled.
"Laughin' at me now? When two seconds ago you were just whining for me." The drool was cleaned off his face by his hand and he wiped it on his pants. The smile never left his face as he stared at you. He couldn't help it, seeing you there, all pretty in a long silk nightgown that looked like it draped over your body like how the sculptures of the gods with thin fabric that would cover barley anything. The card game now long forgotten and the tension getting thicker than honey.
The scoot sound of your chair brought him out of his trance and he realized you stood up. Your hands ran up from his hands to his arm to bring him up too. Oh he knows what you want, what you need. He couldn't help help but let the nickname slip from his lips as he followed you like he was floating, "Oh mon cher"
The soft silk and lace from the bed comforter hit the back of his legs as he backed into it. You stood in front of him, looking up and then your soft lips moved. "Mon cher?"
"Means my darling."
"What language?"
"French."
He saw you hum in thought before nudging you to speak by placing his hands on your hips and giving it a soft squeeze.
"You don't sound French." You finally said, not accusing but stating as a fact.
Remmick shook his head, not denying. "No I'm not."
"Wish you'd tell me more, about your past, about you now." disappointed gleamed in your eyes. Remmick never really told you much about anything of himself, though sometimes he would slip some things out, like his love for music but you could tell there was more to that than he would let on. Thinking it was just too sad to talk about, you tried not to push but sometimes it would get confusing. Like when he would switch like a change of tongue and only under the sheets of sweat and lust after the vulnerable intimacy would he let out how he really sounded. It was a accent you never heard but it sounded old and raw, but you liked it.
"All in due time darlin', you will know all that I am." He said calmly, bringing one of his hands up to hold your soft face, trying to get you to forget about that and to focus on the situation now. The candle lights around the room gave him a soft glow but sometimes would give his eyes a little flicker, might be trick of the light.
You nodded, now suddenly tired and not wanting to think much more of it before you gave yourself a headache. The desire you just once held had now vanish into fatigue, maybe it was the soft lighting or the long night finally taking it's toll on you. Either way you felt comfortable in these hands that always made you feel safe in the night.
As if sensing your sleepiness, he carefully guided you into bed and under the covers as if he was tucking away a valuable item away in it's box. "Get some rest sweet pea, I'll see ye tomorrow."
Soon after that, you were fast asleep. Remmick blew out the candles settling into what he was used to, the dark. This allowed the moonlight to set in and flow into the room, basking you in it's glow and you slept. Remmick watched as the gentle rise and fall of your chest was set in a soft rhythm. At times like this he questioned what he was actually doing here. The goal in the end was to devour you right? Or to turn you? To start chaos in this dangerous family for fun? Right? But sometimes he'd look at you like this and remembered what it was like to be human with risk and thrill, with feeling and warmth. He was damned wasn't he?
