It's 'MoVember'.....Get your 'NailStache' on and Help out the boys!!!

Did you know that November was National Mustache Month?

I was out with a friend and found a nicely 'stached' gentleman, that filled me in on this little secret and great cause,  to raise money for men's health issues, specifically prostate cancer.

Men start clean-shaven on the first of November and then let their 'stache grow all month. The idea is to get donations from friends and family.

The 'Movember" cause, started eight years ago in Australia. and participants say they are the largest nongovernmental contributor to prostate cancer research. These guys effecitively become walking, billboards for the 30 days of November.  Through their actions and words, they raise awareness and monies,  by prompting private and public conversations around the often ignored men's health issues.

The Mustache is becoming a bit more popular in so many ways.  I've seen T-shirts, Baby Bibs, and I have a few friends that have some of these little beauties tattooed on their fingers, 'fingerstache, if you will, as seen here; 

                                                 Or if you don't want the permanence of the real thang...there is temporary tattoos you can purchase too....GENIUS!!  

After seeing all. that is mustache, I decided to have a lil' fun and create the first in my line of, what I call, 'NAILSTACHE' !   

             This 'NailStache' I call 'The Borat' for obvious reasons

      I had a hard time deciding which 'Geraldo' 'stache I wanted to create, this one's kinda classic to Mr. Rivera

      Although his 'stache has larger curls, this one was Inspired by Baseball Relief Pitcher, Roland 'Rollie' Fingers (had to have a handlebar in there)

      And last but certainly not least, 'The Magnum' inspired by 'Stache' LEGEND, Tom Selleck...he makes that mustache so sexy, no ladies??

Had so much fun on working on this video shoot for Sephora and of course I love all Tangerine, Nail Lovin', close ups, in matte, opaque, glitter, and shimmer finishes.....My favorite is the tangerine glitter.... perfection!

Behind the Bottle with Tracylee....V Magazine

This shoot for one of my all time faaavorite magazines, V Magzine was shot at a school in Brooklyn, what a fun idea for a story!  

I painted the models' nails all in neutral shades of Chanel, as we wanted a clean and natural look to compliment their sporty fashion.  These trophy winners, spend every waking moment at practice, with little time for high fashion nails.... *wink

Get the Luxe Look~Adele's Louboutin Nails at the Grammy Awards

Matching our manicure with our heels? Of course......as long as they are Designer Heels! 

    Adele's Christian Louboutin, inspired manicure has everyone buzzing in the fashion world. Nail Stylist, Mike Pocock, flew in from the UK for the 6 time Grammy Award Winner, to polish these Red Carpet Beauties and gave us the Luxe Scoop!

Adele's almond shaped enhancements were polished using 3 coats of Ciate's Nail lacquer in 'Jewel' holographic glitter, giving it the ultimate effect. The underside was then painted in 'Mistress' Red, replicating the Louboutin red sole.

     Get the Luxe Look:

Adele has long, nail enhancements, file almond shaped.  I started implementing this nail shape trend in 2010, and am so glad it has caught on!  I think this is a very flattering shape for most of us.

When filing your nails almond, gradually file the nail gently, one side at time.  I like to start in the middle of the nail and file each side down, to make sure the top most point of the ‘almond’ is even.   Please girls, do not file the sides of your nails, it will weaken your nails whether you have enhancements on them or not!

  For the natural nail girl, get yourself some Kiss, oval shaped, full coverage press-on nails to create a similar look.  I use these all the time on set and on myself and are so easy to apply.

Apply base coat to the nails, to not only help polish apply smoother, but also to give the polish a good anchor for longevity. For this look, don't forget to apply base coat to the underside of the nails too!

Next apply Holographic Glitter polish to the top side of the nail (2-3 coats depending on glitter opacity) then apply crimson red to the underside

Have your Manicurist apply a clear nail polish and then dip them in                      

Holographic glitter or sprinkle it on top for the ultimate coverage.

Behind the Bottle with Tracylee...Gotham Magazine with Chanel Iman

Looooved working on this Gotham Mag story with Chanel Iman who is not only gorgeous, but smart AND sweet! 

Shot outside Lincoln Center in NYC by Photographer, Gavin Bond and styled by Amanda Weiner in a variety of designs by Prada, Fendi, Jill Stuart, and Victoria Beckham (need that color block dress, NOW!) to  name a few.

Chanel's tresses were beautifully created by uber talented, Ted Gibson, and flawless makeup by Ralph Siciliano.

We wanted a little more length to Chanel's natural nails, so I chose Kiss nails filed in a oval shape and then polished using Dior Vernis, Nail Lacquer in 'Violet Graphique' which I feel is the perfect compliment to her looks and adds a great Pop of Color!

Get the Luxe Look: Rihanna 'You Da One' video goes white & black...including her nail game!

Rihanna's new video is blowing up the Internet as we speak!                

Her nail enhancements filed in an almond shape, and painted White and Black. 

Get the Luxe Look:

Rihanna has long, nail enhancements, file almond shaped.  I predicted this nail shape trend in 2010, and am so glad it has caught on!  I think this is a very flattering shape for her and elongates her fingers.  

When filing your nails almond, gradually file the nail gently, one side at at time.  I like to start in the the middle of the nail and file each side down, to make sure the top most point of the ‘almond’ is even.   Please girls, do not file the sides of your nails, it will weaken your nails whether you have enhancements on them or not!

The  Reverse French or Moon Mani, was done with a white base color and an exaggerated triangle moon design in black.  My favorites are by Orly,  black,' Liquid Vinyl' and white,'White Tips' . These polishes are highly pigmented, offering great coverage on the nail.

This is a great look, on trend with the shape and the nail color compliments the black and white video beautifully….truly Luxe!

Behind the Bottle with Tracylee: Angelica Salem "We Rock the World" Video Shoot

I've worked many times with the next Big Pop Star, Angelica Salem, so when I was asked to create fun nails for her "We Rock the World' video, of course I couldn't refuse!   I created a couple different nail looks for Angelica.

The 1st Nail look was done in a metallic white, then added nail bling, for fun,  in multiple medians/colors, because we loooove to have nail fun, right???

                                                            For Angelica's 2nd Nail Look, I created not only fun nails, but I was also given the opportunity to create one of my custom, Luxe Nail Jewelry Pieces. I've named this piece "Angel" , exclusively, for her.(seen at 2:45 mark in the video)

First, I applied a metallic snakeskin nail film over her natural nails.  I added nail bling to only a couple of them, just so the lights in the video would pick it up. Next, I created her "Angel" Nail Jewelry in silver with her signature Angel Wing dangle.We incorporated an Angel Wing dangle in all of the shoots I've worked on with Angelica.  This entire piece connects from her pinky nail into a ring on her finger, then into a bracelet on her wrist.  Creating Custom Nail Jewelry has been a dream of mine for quite some time now, and I am so happy that Angelica, allowed me to make one of my dreams come true!!! Thank you again Angelica!!

     Angelica included a bus load of friends to be included in her video, so sweet right?, these two besties, LIsa Toriello and Raquel D'Arinzo, enjoyed some backstage glam session!

     This is one of my favorite looks of the entire video!  StyleWise NYC killed it with this look and that hat is SICK! 

                                            Angel and I hammin' it up for the camera!  Such a fun day!

                                                 This Video was so much fun to work on, the energy was amazing, and I always love working with my girlie Alisha.
