i too study psychology and i find it so interesting that the dsm is held in such high regard when literally for our first dclinpsy (Clinical Psych basically) lesson they were like "lol the dsm and the icd arent rly welcoming to other cultures which is its major flaw so keep it in mind always" like????????

ISN’T IT SO FUNNY THO and it’s like

“ugh i cant believe!!! people diagnose THEMSELVES instead of letting PROFESSIONALS do it!!!” like lmfao the dsm and icd aren’t really cross-culturally applicable and also one consistency is that!! the diagnoses only apply if the mental illness or whatever disrupts daily life/activities!!!

even my depression and ptsd won’t qualify for a diagnosis because!!! i cope!!! and have adapted my life around my illness!!! so like???

did you think for a second i wouldn’t be talking about you. jfc.

fiRST OF ALL: you are such an amazing roleplayer for one very unique reason: you are SO passionate about all the characters that you roleplay that you just effortlessly breathe so much life into them and -- honestly that’s something i will always aspire to. i can remember you sending me information on beau for like hOURS and i just sat there and ATE IT ALL UP because it was so fantastic and you had put so much thought into it and yOU WERE SO SO SO PASSIONATE ABOUT ALL OF IT. your enthusiasm for your characters is not only infectious, but also SO SO refreshing.

but honestly i need to rant a lot more about you as a person rather than a roleplayer. oKAY so we all know that sometimes i up and drop this blog for various reasons pertaining to my mental health, but if there’s one thing i can say about you, it’s that even when i haven’t been an active roleplayer, you never stopped being a friend. you were always there to message me about what was going on in my life. you talked me through relationship problems, you were there when a relationship started (hell, my boyfriend thought you seemed so cool that he took the phone from me and started skyping you himself.) between all the memories i have writing with you, talking late into the night with you, even playing WoW with you, i just -- i don’t have the words to describe how wonderful you are in my eyes. you’ve just-- you’ve always been there for me, no matter what, and you’ve just been SUCH a true friend, through the bad times and the good. like i said, i don’t have the words to describe how wonderful and precious you are to me, but just know that you are. ;-;
