hmm... how about... 1, 6, 9, and 10 for hk? :eyes:
1. What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get?*
anything with grimm honestly X] i will never understand people pairing him with tpk. like congratulations! you have told me you’re projecting token fandom traits onto the closest things we have to twinks and you only care about the gods!
quirrel and tiso for similar reasons (minus the god point), though i think thats died down recently
i dont quite understand lacenet personally, but i mean. im very particular with my ships, and i get it on a fandom scale. its refreshing to see people take the gorls who haven’t interacted too much yet on go ‘hey. gay time’ it’ll be interesting to see what silksong’s release, where we actually get more canon interactions, will do for the pairing.
6. Has fandom ever made you enjoy a pairing you previously hated?*
hmm, i dont think so! there wasnt really any pairings i started off disliking much. i gues sthe closest would be lemm and quirrel, it confused me because they never interacted, but man, stag beetles and broken legs is a masterpiece of a fic and i love that it doesnt even end with them getting together! instead its just a showcase of grief and mourning and moving on with characters who actually have fantastic chemistry and i LOVE that. they bounce off each other so well! a lot of that comes with the masterful interpretation of lemm, but MAN, their interactions feel so real
9. Most disliked character(s)? Why?
[gazes witheringly at tpk] fork bastard for obvious reasons. X] he mass murdered so many of his own children that the abyss is made of their skulls, i dont care if hes sad about it, or if the ends justified the means (they didnt). he’s an awful man and my hate for him is only fuelled by seeing people make content of him over and over and over. he’s not a he he funny dad, or hah short husband. i can barely even appreciate him from a writing standpoint anymore. when i look at him i can only see people’s uncaring attitude towards the vessel’s shine through
10. Most disliked arc? Why?
i dont care for godmaster dlc from a story standpoint at all. i LOVE the gameplay, i’d love it as just a separate arcade mode with no story where you just refight the bosses (just give me the hall of gods and the pantheons with no story!) but writing wise it feels like...the antithesis of the game. it tries ti take away the sting from the original radiance fight with absolute radiance, but a lot of the weight of the original radiance comes from the setting. you’re in the temple, you’re in your siblings MIND you’ve been all over the kingdom, and then your siblings help! your siblings help in the fight! the void gets to fight back and destroy this thing that led to their suffering!
in godhome, you’re in the godseekers mind. in the junk pit. you fight the radiance alone. no hornet. no thk. no shades from the abyss. i know i’ve made the point before that ghost takes up that mantle for their fallen siblings, fights for them, (see abyss shriek mets post) but its still like....its not the same, its not as personal. and whats with the ending??? why do they kill the godseeker and turn into a huge monster? why does the void threaten everyone if you dont do the delicate flower first? why would ghost do such a thing? it feels like a zany bad ending and i dont like it
plus i dislike the idea of fighting these characters mutliple times from a stry standpoint, particularly broken vessel. its a mercy as much as a progression to defeat the infection bosses. i dont like making them relive in in story when it could have so easily been a non canon gamemode.
then there’s the nailmasters., i LOVE them. i lvoe them so much. sheo’s fight is a DELIGHT visually, but like...he hung up his nail!!! mato and oro still haveb’t made up in the real world! i guess you could see it as them dreaming of being okay again, being brothers and loving each other, but you dont get any special dialogue with them (or even dream nail dialouge!) if you revisit them after the fight
dream no more > embrace the void
