Okay, I can't be the only one who watched Tales of the Underworld and thought the Asajj Ventress episodes felt like a backdoor pilot for a show that was not greenlit, right? Right?

I understand all the reasons why Disney ultimately passed:

It's too derivative of a dozen other stories of post-Order 66 masters and apprentices they have running around at the same time

Lyco is pretty similar to Ezra on the surface

It would be difficult to come up with stories that fit the "we're protagonists but not necessarily good guys" thing.

The most obvious direction for Asajj and Lyco's force user plot would have to be "the Jedi were wrong, the Nightsisters were wrong, the Sith were wrong, everybody's a little right and a little wrong, nuance nuance nuance". And for a ton of the fanbase, that is a non starter.

But if I may...

Make the series about Asajj and Lyco going around to other CIS veterans and holdouts, helping them until the Empire shows up, and how these veterans and holdouts will form an early part of the Rebel Alliance. Maybe Asajj, Lyco, and other Seppies come to understand that they were played. The CIS was set up to fail so the Empire could come to power. They were fooled, all of them. And now it's time to pick up the pieces and fight like hell.

Why is Lyco not in the Original Trilogy? I don't know maybe he is and we just don't see him. Maybe he's busy fighting somewhere else or maybe he and Asajj lead some CIS veterans on a journey into the Unknown Regions or something.

It really is a shame that we don't get to see Quinlan and Lyco interact. You know, Quinlan who watched Obi-Wan get attacked by a dragonsnake and then very seriously asked, "Are you done messing around?" and Lyco "Oh wait, you don't have any friends" Strata.

So Maul takes place in about 18BBY, and TOTU takes place in about 17-18BBY, which tells me Lyco Strata and Devon Izara might have known each other and now I’m sad again.

It's 2 AM in my time zone.

I just came up with a headcanon that Lyco's hobby is collecting souvenir cards (like postcards, but I'm not sure if physical letters in SW are still a thing). He has at least one from each planet he'd visited.
