A lying NYPD cop is now facing prison time for sending an innocent man to jail on assault charges, thankfully a video proved his words were a lie.
The public needs to be reminded police officers will routinely lie during a traffic stop in order to make citizens believe they’re on their side and confess to some sort of crime. Other times those lies carry over into the actual police report, like in this case.

The foundation of policing in America was based on targeting Black men... and generationally, it's done this since the 1800s. This is mean and disheartening but this has been going on for years. It's never been a good relationship between police and Black /people of color, especially Black people. And this type of thing needs to be studied. Racist white people can't stand Black people who have achieved high status. They comment on us being "ghetto" the way we speak but then when that isn't the case they hate that even more. You can't be high-brow enough to please a racist if you are Black because the "Black" is what irks them. Our crime numbers are cooked up and their crime numbers are cooked down. They have to lie to ever make a point. They need to have a foundation for their bigoted thought process regarding Black/Brown people. The way some of us lap up behind their behinds is sickening.

Two former sheriff’s deputies on Wednesday were indicted on perjury charges for allegedly lying during a grand jury proceeding in the January death of Mathew Ajibade in the Chatham County jail. Jason Paul Kenny, 31, falsely stated before a grand jury on June 24 that “he had told Lt. Debra Johnson that he had Tased Mathew Ajibade four times before nurse (Gregory) Brown checked the restraints on” Ajibade, the Chatham County grand jury said in returning a one-count perjury indictment. In a separate indictment, Maxine Evans, 56, was named in three perjury accounts, each stemming from alleged false statements she made before the grand jury on June 24.
Police Sgt. William Dwyer from Millis, Massachusetts, said a 27-year-old part-time officer shot his own cruiser and crashed it himself before saying he had been shot at, sparking a major manhunt.
City leaders questioned Thursday why the Baltimore Police Department issued a public warning, on the morning of Freddie Gray's funeral, that gang members had teamed up to "take out" police officers. Police announced on April 27 a "credible threat" that the Bloods, Crips and Black Guerrilla Family had joined together up to target officers, but other law enforcement agencies concluded within hours that they couldn't verify the claim, according to interviews and documents obtained by The Baltimore Sun. "I knew all along it was a bunch of baloney," City Council President Bernard C. "Jack" Young said. "They owe the council and the public an explanation for why they put this false information out there."
