Nairi tried Nivah’s wig... by Lenician-Terran Dolls
Another sleepless night, so I made tonight crafting (and school and revue report work) night too. I braided some more alpaca, and then started on Nairi’s outfit. The top is completely sewn, the skirt is just basted in place (but this is exactly how it’ll look). The head scarf will need to be cut (now I just tied the whole rest of the fabric around) and have its edges hemmed, and then I’ll need to make her some jewelry to go with it. I originally thought it might become too colourful and patterned, but I think it suits her.
I’m also thinking that I’ll not make her a braided wig, and either make a short flocked one or a short curly one, so she can wear headscarves over instead. I think she looks just as good with it as braids, and as she’s supposed to be Nigerian it works well either way. If I stick with purely headscarves I’ll need to learn to tie a proper gele though... I’ve tried and failed so many times, but I should manage with practice.
(Terrible photos, I know. I’ll get good portraits when she’s completely done).
Since I don’t much like her wig on her, I made a headscarf in the mean time, which she can wear until I get her wig made.
A picture of my doll shelf, to apologise for my lack of updates. I’ve been stuck at the student society almost 24/7 (apart from mandatory classes and sleeping, that is), but now the revue is go and no more costume-making is needed, so I can relax a bit. I’ve managed to catch the flu, so it’s been a hellish last week, but I’m finally starting to get better.
I’m at a con now for the weekend, so I just pray the stress won’t worsen my condition too much.
I apologise for Osprey’s face-up; I tried my hand at painting again :P She’s off to Esthy as soon as I can get her shipped off to get painted, so then she’ll look nice. And Agni looks so dark compared to the rest, I can’t even get her features in the photo without washing the others’ colours out too much (or I could, but I don’t feel like editing too much). This also isn’t all the dolls I brought to my new place, but the shelf hasn’t got place for any more. I hope to get more shelves installed later so I can have the rest at display too.
