What's in the mini bag
finished another one from the valentines polls this time for byleth's birthday!
something something if i had a nickel for every time a bisexual coded man with light hair and freakishly blue eyes found something out that changed their entire lives and now they cannot rest until they complete their objectives, while simultaneously losing themselves in it all, had a basically undead green haired professor with and/or formerly had a deity residing inside of them.
and both dudes with light hair and freakishly blue eyes are shunned out by the people they loved or deemed untrustworthy, being called monstrous because of how much they've lost themselves throughout everything, and in the end they were misled because they believed one sole thing. but their green haired professor still sees them for them and is their voice of reason in the end and continues to be.
and all of it, in one way or another, is undeniably queer/queer coded in different aspects and is better read that way.
then i'd have [double checks notes] Two (2) Whole nickels
dimitri crisis: the weird guy you've been slowly developing a crush on lately is also trans but you have no idea how to say "hey me too" so time to be normal about it
"For me?"
Back on my “M!Byleth should be able to romance Dimitri” shit but this time I’m a little more coherent!!!
In almost all routes, Dimitri dies. It’s not that he can die like Claude in SS; his death is pretty much set in stone. His mental instability and single-minded thirst for vengeance consume him, causing him to become a shell of who he once was. Only in his own route does he avoid this. And it’s because of Byleth. He needs Byleth. He needs Byleth to let him know he’s not alone in this world, to know he’ll always have someone by his side when all seems lost, to know vengeance isn’t what’ll satisfy him or the ghosts that haunt him. I dislike the phrase “I can’t live without you” and that’s not what I’m saying here, although it sounds a lot like it. I’m not saying Dimitri needs Byleth in order to live, but that he needs him to teach him that he can live.
And ain’t that romance?
Ain’t it romance for Byleth to reach out his hand to his broken, lost friend and for Dimitri to go “your hands are so warm…have they always been?” Ain’t it romance for a person to so desperately need another, specific person when they’re at their lowest?
*Crawls on your table* AIN’T IT ROMANCE FOR DIMITRI TO COMMENT ON HOW COMFORTABLE YOUR ROOM IS AND HOW HE FEELS HE COULD STAY THERE FOR A WHILE DURING TEATIME? GODDAMN IT, UNINTELLIGENT SYSTEMS, HE IS MY BOYFRIEND AND AS SOMEONE WHO CHOSE MALE BYLETH, I SHOULD HAVE THE RIGHT TO FUCKING MARRY HIM AND MAKE HIM HAPPY—
You know today I re-realized I’m in love with Dimitri. I knew I had a crush for a bit and I liked his character in general, but today, I just said it aloud and it surprised me 😅
Anyway! All of this is to say I think they messed up not making Dimitri a love interest for both Byleths. His route reads like a goddamn love story to me idc!!!
a commission i did for @silversdragonemporium
Probably what happened. Idk.
