“So you came all the way here to have me look under the hood?”
There were an immeasurable amount of mechanics in the greater Los Angeles area. With how they had left things he thought that she’d cross him off her list forever.

“It wasn’t what it looked like, I promise.” He moved closer to her, tentatively reaching for her hand.
@perdidoelcielo
“Trust me,” he muttered before spitting out some blood. “I’ve been worse off.”
He leaned against the brisk wall of the seedy establishment and slid down to the floor.
“Funny you catching me like this. What? Ya been stalking me, sweetheart?”
Lame attempt at humour.

Was he seeing straight or were his three whiskeys on the rocks causing him to see things? Heavenly things at that.
Evan leaned over the mahogany bar and whispered in the bartender’s ear. He sent down a Sex on the Beach to the woman he had his eyes on. They had been out of touch after he’d went dark to treat his illness. It had been only a couple of months since he’d jumped back into the scene.

Evan regarded the grizzled man in the distance. This was a dive bar in small town and it was his town, not Evan’s. And because of this he tread lightly. “Thought I’d come here and run into strangers,” Evan quipped, his short glass of whiskey in hand. “I was obviously very wrong.”
He held out his free hand to be shaken and offered him a small smile.

It was nice to do nothing. He was lucky to still be breathing. And Evan didn’t take it for granted. It had really put a lot into perspective for him. What mattered, what didn’t.
Reformed killer turned mechanic/slightly wealthy auto trader that worked for those in the circuit. It paid well and he was smart enough to start putting his money into assets all over the city.
If he wasn’t careful maybe he’d turn into some rich Angelino snob. Good thing he had her to keep him grounded. He chuckled as he met her gaze and smiled. It was a rare sighting, but a welcome one none the less. He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her closer.
“You’re spoilin’ me, huh?”

It was happening again. That tingling sensation he felt in his fingertips, the sound of blood rushing in his ears, he was about to travel. He let out a groan and stood to his feet, walking down the hall to just get it over with. The warping usually went faster when he was in motion. He missed the corner of the table though and tripped, falling to the floor and hitting his head.
He felt himself falling away as he was groaning in pain from the head injury. Evan looked down at his hand, seeing the blood as his hand started to vanish then it was black. He was back on his feet and he looked around, colors coming to life and then he was in a place he didn’t recognize. “Where the hell am I?” Just then someone flew by, almost hitting him in the face.

Evan wasn’t born with the ability to change what time he lived in. He was born in a simple town in Georgia with two normal parents in 1954. He was on the football team in middle school and that’s the beginning of all his bad luck. Unknown to him his coach was part of an experimental treatment that was supposed to make super-humans, we all know how that story line goes. Due to obvious reasons it never really worked on him so he started giving out small dosages to the boys on his team. Majority of them nothing happened, a few got sick and it wasn’t until Evan that anything was successful. A freak accident also helped boost it however. When he was about 14 there was a horrible tornado in his town, his parents decided to leave the city but that only made things worse for them. In the havoc his parents struck an electric pole, electrocuting them all and his parents died. However, he was sent forward to the present day. Everything was confusing and he tried to get his barrings but nothing was ever clear to him. The electricity had set something off in his body combined with the treatments he’d been secretly given that now he can travel through time. It occurs randomly now, something will set him off and poof he’s elsewhere. All the doctors just say he’s crazy but he keeps hoping that one day someone will believe him and help him out.
